Jeez TC, you really have been supping the grumpy juice tonight haven't you.

The statement even alludes to the fact they WANTED a football enthusiast to step in, they were playing the the safety rope game. It strikes me that we should be extremely grateful for the fact they not only saw Argyle as a significant Westcountry institution but were not prepared to sit idly by and let it die.

As property developer owners go surely one that recognises the importance of our brand to that extent and steps in for those reasons is better than a wee grinning bafoon from Truro, a Tory councillor or a colection of seven incompetent business numpties from all corners of the globe. TC?.

It's got a while to run still but if they get the club I think that's just about the perfect deal for us. We're not even beggars, we're dead on our arses yet we get a fantastically well run and prudent business empire. They want us to be stable, self sufficient and provide excellence, in line with the way the other parts of the empire are run, perfect I say.

If you're watching JB, just don't make the rent prohibitive and don't 'punish' success by raping the profits, and please include a Trust representative on your board, it's essential for trust (with a small T). We'll need to stabilise for a season or two but in time we can make Argyle the flagship of your company if you give us the chance .

You are Old Skool ma son!

The future is green.
The future is an Akkeron Group Hotel development right next to HP.
The future is the Riddler calling the shots on the football side.
Rejoice!

Kin Ave It!! :-D
Pay him up and thank him JB.. Mr Reid will always be an Argyle Legend.

Smiffy, like with Kagami et al, I will remain sceptical until the evidence tips the balance one way or the other.

He admits hes no fan of Argyle and if the developable land around HP wasnt there, would he be?

So, it may turn out he will be absolutely marvellous, build the stand, add training ground, financial;ly stabilise the club and make a few quid himself. In which case, I will stand and applaud.

In the meantime I will treat him with caution and point out the obvious weakness in the euphoria that will inevitably surround him.

He may own the club, but we OWN it. There is a difference.

For Brent's first official contact with the fans it's a great opening statement and ticks all the boxes. Down to earth, practical common-sense with no World Cup balloons and whistles tagged on as an appetiser.

The fly in the ointment is the Mastpoint Mob - will they play ball?

TC, there will be scepticism, I accept that, hell i'll be giving spades of it myself.........hence the caviats at the end of my post.

But you must conceed of all the potential proposed futures we've faced this represents by far the better option. They've not rubbed their hands together with glee over ludicrous multiplex pipedreams, they're not the NWO and they're not liquidation............hell they even wanted a football enthusiast to take the club. Their motivation wasn't profit, it was not letting Argyle die. I'll be watching closely too but these do not appear to be people who are in this to milk Argyle as a cash cow like the others. I firmly believe we're going to be given a chance, a chance the other options simply would not have given us.

Coming to the front of an Argyle shirt next season?..........

That'll please the chippy Devonians .

Is the embargo genuinely lifted, because i haven't read this anywhere asides here?

If it is, is the loan market still open, because if we can get in reinforcements ASAP, we really can fight to stay up!!

ISTANBUL, BELIEVE, COME ON YOU GREENS!!!

Im sure Graham will agree he is in the same boat as all the other press.

Keep Mum until midnight otherwise, no goodies in the future.

Id be more impressed if he had good communications with ALL the fans.

Still, marginally better than bankruptcy, by how much we will discover over the coming months.

Tony....I too am very cautious about the situation.
Property developers ? But it would seem that if we desire retaining FL status, we don't have a lot of choice in the matter, do we ?
And, also, it is very early days still. We can only hope that things go without too much of a hitch. But, of all the names bandied around, I reckon that Mr. Brents company appear to be the best choice available.
However, how you think that the difference between surviving and playing Lge2 football, is marginally better than liquidation beats the crap out of me tbh.

I think it only the embargo on the news that's been lifted...not the transfer embargo !

And, also, I think the transfer loan window closed at the end of March anyway ?

Couldn't agree more. If you're going to have to get up at 5am for work this is news to cheer the day .[/quote]

5am it was, and could well be good news if it comes to fruition. Must admit it did have a feel good factor, perhaps the news might bring some "feel good" back to the team tonight.
3 Points tonight, 3 on Saturday will make it look interesting.

And did those feet in ancient time
Walk upon England's mountains GREEN
And was the holy lamb of God
On England's pleasant pastures seen
And did the countenance divine
Shine forth upon our clouded hills
And was Jerusalem builded here
Among those dark Satanic mills
Bring me my bow of burning gold
Bring me my arrows of desire
Bring me my spears o'clouds unfold
Bring me my chariot of fire
I will not cease from mental fight
Nor shall my sword sleep in my hand
'Til we have built Jerusalem
In England's GREEN and pleasant land
'Til we have built Jerusalem
In England's GREEN and pleasant land
