Doesn't this mean that those of you who think you are (or were) shareholders are not anymore because it is impossible to own a share of nothing?

Ceefax? How retro! :)

The internet for old people :)

Found an old mug the other day with the Clubcall number on it. Ask yer Dad kids and while you're at it ask him how much he racked up on the phonebill waiting for that "sensational transfer news" only to find Kwame Ampadu had signed on loan .

Thank Gadd for the internet.

Thanks for clearing up the liability thing.

As for the issuing of new shares... I wonder if the shares will be for the existing company or for a new investment vehicle if/when they are ever issued?

Is our little portion of the club going to survive this or will it be obliterated along with much else? Will I be left with a piece of paper which is nothing more than a meaningless memento? Admittedly it isn't really much more than that now but I'm quite proud to own about a millionth of the club and I'd hate to see it go.

If the shares of the existing company are purchased then the purchaser/s acquire the liabilities of that company as well as the assets. I cannot imagine anyone wanting to be lumbered with the former, can you?

I can remember standing in for Steve Hill many years ago to do the Clubcall updates during a match at Home Park (probably late 1990s). It was the first time I'd ever used a mobile phone and I really didn't have much clue about how to work it so I've no idea whether those that made the call that day every got to find out what was happening.

A well run club is what i want to support. Never again do i want to hear of staff, players or suppliers not being paid.

If James Brent brings decency, honesty and self respect back to the club we will have done very well.

All i want to worry about is the result of the game.

Here's hoping.

Good luck James (and thank you)
The 2011-2012 season was the end for me.

In the not-too-distant past, I used to go out to Argyle on a Saturday afternoon, watch the first half, then sprint down to Safeway at half-time and spend the rest of the afternoon/evening stacking fruit and veg (sounds like a proper Hovis 'in my day' story, that - even the alleyway shortcut I used to take was cobbled...).

At 5 o'clock, I'd nip off to the store payphone to give the Clubcall a ring to check the score (because I couldn't wait for my Dad to get home about five minutes later): "Wel... come... to... the... Ply... mouth... Ar... gyle.... Foot... Ball.... Club... Clubcall.............. The.... O... fficial.... Clubcall.... line... for.... Ply.... mouth.... Ar.... gyle... Foot... Ball... Club..." It would take about five minutes and cost me a quid just to find out that 1-0 half-time lead had turned into a 2-1 defeat. Then back to the spuds.

That's only 15 years ago. Now I can go to a stag in Amsterdam - as I did recently - and sit outside a bar thousands of miles from Home Park and follow the game practically as it's happening on my phone. I can even read comments from fellow Argyle fans actually at the game.

Kids these days don't know how good they've got it!

So basically, these days you can find out Argyle are losing much more quickly and even track the "progress" of the defeat as it unfolds eh? I remember once I was at a conference in Stirling (back in 1994) and I had to watch the TV screens in a window of a shop to find out that Argyle were losing 5-1 to Bradford at Home Park.

Growing up in Leicestershire, this was our link to Home Park. The old man would crack it at my brother and I racking up the phone bills, five minutes later he'd be glued to the phone listening to an interview with Dougie Anderson.
