One of the departed Directors had to take Kagami to court to get his money-didn't this raise any alarm bells with Stapleton?

If you believe what Stapleton says, it shows he's not fit to run a market stall let alone a professional footbal club.

Hopefully this draws the line that means we can all move on.

The man was never as bad as some painted him.

It is the future that matters now.
The 2011-2012 season was the end for me.

Yeah, poor guy, being forced to take £50k a year from the Japanese

It's an implied apology, but better than none at all.

So long as the club's future doesn't involve him, then yes time to look forward. But we must learn from the mistakes.

BTW, have the Trust got their £330k back?

Reading that, I can't help just feeling an inkling of remorse for the guy. I know it's only one side of the story, but I don't see any of the others giving an interview.

Here, here! Can we strip Fail of his knighthood and re-distribute it to Sir Ian De Lar, sounds more appropriate!

I had that inkling of remorse for mullet until I started wondering if he was getting paid for the interview!

Mark, he most definitely wasn't according to those that know these things (Rupert, for one).

By the way, your shirt was posted to London yesterday.

If you want to bung another fiver in the GT fund, that will cover it.

Enjoy.

I think Stapleton has more in his 'locker' that those other idiots, or have you forgotten two Championships?

It's the same for Luggy, the man could have gone down as one of the worst, if it wasn't for his 'previous'.

It's OK having a vendetta John, but knowing when to let go is a good thing. :)

Its hardly an apology though is it. The reporter has said it is an apology but all Stapleton has said is "I'm sorry it has turned out like this".

Its a bit like a mass murderer saying its a shame that the people he killed are'nt alive still.

And I note Mr Stapleton is still pointing the finger at all and sundry and denying knowing the full scale of the mess despite being contracted to be paid £50k a year to look after things like that.

Stapleton admits in the article he knew there was no cash in March 2009 so they couldnt sack Sturrock. So how can he claim he didnt understand the gravity of the situation after that date? Its also rather illuminating that he refuses to blame the Japanese connection yet in the same article is pointing the finger at Synan for not keeping Kagami informed.

Its all very confusing as to why the man is doing this now.
I can take the despair. Its the hope I cant stand.

Who cares, they were never Argyle in the first place.

Anyway it's not about forgiveness it's about moving on, those that cannot will just have live with it.

It feels like a man scrambling around for a narrative that will absolve him for most if not all the blame....but he doing so he loses sight of the plot that he's written previously

I'd rather just forget about the man....let this be the last we hear of him....no talking head vox pop comments on Argyle matters from here on in from him

Thanks v much Ian :appl: :appl: Second payment to GTs done.

Bit of a :stir: on my part, as, unlike the Sun, I'm sure provincial evening papers don't do much in the way of paid interviews!

I agree this is not the heart felt straight apology as the title suggested instead hes still throwing mud. Lets just forget about this time waster (who ruined our club  ), it would help alot more in moving on if this takeover either was transparent and completed quickly or collapsed soon so Brent can buy the club

Oh yes he was - what's being printed in the press is very much his side of the story, which paints him in this 'I didn't really know what was going on, but I'm a good guy really' image.

There are any number of incidents over the years, as far back as the Jones and Foot days, not to mention Pulis and Holloway that will never see the light of day.

Never forget that whilst the meltdown happened under Gardner and Todd, who was in the background sniping away, undermining them for entirely his own ends. The whole collapse of the club from being play off contenders from the CCC to admin and league 2 was as a result of the policies he and his then colleagues put into place - policies that were based on greed and self interest and not for the football club.

Don't believe a word he says.
The Trust does not speak for me.
