Does anyone know if the staff have been receiving any financial advice.

I work in payroll and if an employee was paid regularly from April to December, but then did not receive any pay in January, as long as they had also been paying tax, they would receive a tax refund in their January pay.

If the staff did not receive any tax refunds, which I suspect they did not, they need to apply to the Inland Revenue to get the refund now that the P60's have been issued.

This applies to the players as well, who would possibly receive a larger rebate because they were probably in the 40% or 50% tax bracket.

I'm starting to think the longer we keep digging in our pockets the longer this will go on.

How I wish I could get down on Friday. :x

How does this affect the staff in terms of benefits? I can't imagine they've all continued this long without seeking support from the government.

If any body has any sympathy for Stapleton or any other of the 7 sxxxx you want your head examined, listening to the the news on spotlight tonight tonight made my blood boil, how the staff have staid loyal to the club is a miracle, the administrator is raking in the money, playing politics with the lively hood of the staff, what are our limp wrist-ed media especially rupert who gets free publicity on this site for the wmn doing about it.

Sadly, I think that may well be the strategy.

Well shouldn't people be talking to the council about their concerns?

And their MP's?

I reckon the time for passivity has long gone..

Sorry, but, as I've explained frequently, my job has changed and I no longer do any Argyle news reporting. Nor does any other WMN writer. The WMN uses the Herald's Argyle news stories and match reports. Which is why I now publicise the Herald's Argyle coverage as well as the WMN's. Because, most of the time, it is identical.

Back to the point of the thread, I just hope that Brenda still has a plan B if the preferred bidder does a runner. I don't blame him for choosing this particular preferred bidder - legally, I think he had to favour the option which had proven funds and which seemed to promise the best available deal to secured creditors - but a happy outcome does not seem likely in the near future.

Could this quote from an earlier poster - ''The second milestone payment and the third larger payment aren't due for a week or two yet and that could be why the staff have been asked to defer again'' - actually be the case surrounding today's news ?.

There is way too much hatred aimed at the PBs/PR and BG on here regarding this story, and this may easily lead PASOTI into a spot of bother.
Criticism may not be agreeable, but it is necessary. It fulfils the same function as pain in the human body. It calls attention to an unhealthy state of things.
