I like his more tub thumping approach. It's precisely what is needed

Great decision. I am now joining the Trust tonight, the Trust has really upped it's game bigtime over the last few weeks.

Thanks for the replies ladies / gents - Lets hope the positivity on this issue carries through to Saturday and the monies can be official written off.

I would just like to add a formal thank you on this thread (should have done it in the OP) to Peter Ryan. Peter assisted greatly with checking / getting guidance on the rules and wording the policy that was put to the ISC.

I can understand the sentiments behind the proposal but disagree we should write off the £7k, the Trust was not set up to be a charity to the green taverners.

I have just joined the Trust and I can now officially say I agree!

I know of Chris from being at Royal Mail and I am impressed with the way he is going about things at the moment.

I completely agree with the prevailing mood; if the rules allow and the Trust can afford to, then by all means write this loan off and let the GT's concentrate on collecting for the staff rather than worry about paying this back.

Am a member, not sure of number offhand, but will include it when I email the consulation@... address.
When did football stop being a slum sport played in slum stadiums for slum people... And when can we have it back, please?

Underwhelmed so you don't have to be.

Writing off the £7k is not a bad thing - it's an excellent decision being made by the Trust.

I don't see this as the Trust being charitable towards the GT's ... all supporters groups are working extremely hard together to get through this period of time and if the Trust / GT's can work together to make a difference in future, then I think it's a fantasic gesture by the Trust that the GT's (after all they have done for our club / staff) can start with a clean sheet. The £7k after all has gone towards what is dear to everyone's hearts ... it hasn't been wasted in the least.
