As a Trust member I disagree with the proposal. The GT's knew the terms of the loan when they took it out. It is my understanding that this money was loaned to the staff. When the staff are paid they repay the GT's and the GT's repay the trust so why should we write off the loan but if the staff do not get their money then that brings up a different set of circumstances which we can address at that time.
No one is saying the money has to be repaid in a lump sum by the GT's. It could be repaid over 10 or 15 years. I also believe the matter of the proposal should be decided by a postal vote of trust members after the new committee has been elected not by the currect ISC, £7000 is too great a sum of money to be decided on by an unelected body.
We have no idea what we or the club will need the money for in the future so I cannot see the need to rush into such a major decision. I also disagree with under 16 being included in the vote. My five year old nephew has no idea of the economics or implications of writing off such a large amount of money.
Wrong - the money was gifted to the staff. Any loans have come from businesses or individuals.
Maybe someone from the GT's could clarify this.
