For me the Plan B has always been Mr Brent, the man who doesnt really like Argyle and wasnt prepared to pay for exclusivity. he appears the only one to be in a positin to do a deal AND have the financial clout to achieve it.

As for the other assembled worthies, I can understand a PR exercise which proclaims "Look at us, were all in this together" I can even un derstand the PR value to Viv turning up, but, shes a Tory who will never sanction a "recivicisation" of HP and remain leader.

Let me emphasise I do not question the decency of those assembled, just the necessity. I say again, James Brent IS Plan B and he doesnt need anyone else on the list to achieve a goal of purchase should the opportunity arise.

I think the dye was cast when the Riddler came on board and pop me down if Im wrong, but feel now the "ginger one" will complete and on his terms.

Have to agree with you tony

I think it will be like sleeping beauty and the seven dwarves turning up as entrants in the Miss Guilfoyle 2011 competition

All done and dusted Im afraid

Finally as Argyle fans we have woken up to the leeches that have come from out of the area and want to take our community club from us. We can't let this happen and I thank all involved for their work with regards to plan B.

To those who have the real ability to drive this forward - Mr Brent, the council, and any others with financial, business and political clout - please remember the feel good factor in the early post McCauley years. That was a real community club, the fans started to come and there was a real buzz about the place. It wasn't just the winning team it was because we felt we were a part of something special. We really were seen by many in the football world as that 'sleeping giant'. If you back us we will come, we will support as fans and no doubt financially as much as we can, particularly if we feel we have a share/stake in the future. We will come together as a community club. We want to be able to lift our heads again. Ridsdale, Heaney and their mates can never engender such feelings. The majority of Argyle fans are honest and loyal. We are worth investing in! This could be the making of the club!

Good luck - we all need it.

Well done Chris for organising this meeting and I wish all participants good luck in formulating a Plan B because as we all know in life, you NEED a Plan B ! I'm impressed with the names of the people and rep's of Groups attending.

From far and near we all wish to see Argyle fighting back and getting some good publicity for a change. It wasn't that long ago that I sat in my air-con office in Thailand listening to a previous manager proudly aiming and on course for the Premiership. It can be done again and I feel with a Plan B it will be done. My personal view, for what it's worth, is that with Plan A we are already struggling and it hasn't even started yet!!

Well done. Now please can the people in power LISTEN to what the public is saying. We don't want people like Heaney and his cronies anywhere near our club. We deserve better. The staff deserve better. Peter Reid deserves better.

Good luck to all tomorrow.

The time has come for someone to put their foot down and say enough is enough. Get people paid, get eleven players on the pitch we'll go from there.

We are a football club. Let us play football.

Guys, I hate to say this, but beyond the obvious sentimentality of some of the posts is a complete mis understanding of the situation.

Chris has rather well laid out the proposition that this is Plan B and only to be enacted if Plan A fails. Plan B is all about James Brent riding over the horizon IF Heaney fails to deliver.

It is not an alternative to Plan A because he wasnt that committed to buying Argyle. If he was we wouldnt be in the apparent mess many believe we are currently in. He made it very clear he would not finance the club, including paying the staff, whilst deciding if he wished to proceed. He would not pay the exclusivity payments nor pay that much to those Argyle oweed.

Against that backdrop, Heaney is now in pole position and will probably get the freeholds and pass off the club to the Riddler. The time to gee up Brent was some months ago and persuade him to go a step further. he didnt want to and so we are where we are.

Like wise Viv P cant be seen to come out and say "PCC will buy HP, which is why she hasnt.

We are where we are for very good reasons. 2/3 pretty awful alternatives but the ginger one is heading for the tape first and the Riddler is still smiling.

Relax, the contest is over, now you only have to decide if you wish to actively support Argyle or not.

TC ...I feel the football league may have a say in that...Heaney's bid is not at all done and dusted..not by a long chalk..which is why I am a 100% behind plan B...

So much has happened at Argyle over the last few months that sometimes it is forgotten what has actually happened in the past. James Brent was the only bid carried out with full due diligence to be tabled within the Administrators original timetable back in March. It allowed for a 100% payment of what was the then Football Creditors Debt. It also included a fixed fee for the administrator that sent a shiver down his spine.

Rather than make a swift decision to conclude an agreement the administrator was enticed by the prospect of greater riches for himself and the creditors by both Paul Buttivant and an 'Irish Consortium'. Deadlines came and went and eventually the administrator ran with a CVA proposal based on the original Brent deal. On the eve of the CVA approval the 'Irish Consortium' came up with an exclusivity proposal that proported to fund the administration process to the tune of £1m and to conclude an agreement in six weeks. Suspicions of an unprecedented collusion remain. Some ten weeks later we remain in a position where the future of the club remains uncertain as Peter Ridsdale makes a further attempt to persuade sceptical Football League officials to recommend that the acquisition by Bishop International Ltd and subsequent sale of the football club to PAFC (125) Ltd is one thy can recommend to the Football League Board as it falls entirely within the Football League rules and regulations.

Tomorrow is the first time the Leader of the Council, a prospective purchaser of the club with proven resources, representatives of supporters groups and others of proven capability have sat around a table to discuss the future of the footbal club. There are clear difficulties ahead, not least dealing with the fact that the Football Creditor Debt has quadrupled since the club first went into administration at the begiining of March. In my opinion, the attendees at tomorrows meeting have the collective will and determination to find an alternative deliverable solution - a Plan B, a Rescue Plan should Plan A (as Peter Ridsdale is now calling it!) fail through lack of funding or a rejection from the Football League and PFA. I have been closer to all this than most and I fully recognise that it may mean participants going further than they have gone before and possible difficult compromises for staff and players but by definition if there is no Plan A then Plan B is the ONLY alternative. That in itself is a game changer.

Take it from me Tony, no-one at that meeting tomorrow will be relaxing thinking the 'contest' as you put it is over - not for a millisecond will we. And nor should we.
