Just got back from the vigil, both the dogs are in their baskets pretending to be asleep (this is what happens when Argyle loose) I don't know how i feel we have been waiting so long to hear any thing positive (i'm not sure if this is good news) now we are almost over the line I can't/ don't feel like celebrating even with a Ribena.

Guilfoyle would not put his name to a statement of this sort, if he was not very, very confident.

Far less worried than I have been for months.

It's the nearest to good news we've had for wages, and I, for one, am going to have a Ribena tonight.

This kinda backs up what I was asking earlier.

The statement was from p and a, is this a good sign that its the actual partnership and not just brenda saying theyre satisfied, eg the loose cannon's finger is off the trigger now?

I can understand how some people feel relieved by this statement, but I think nothing has changed and they are still trying to push the deal over the line. I could be cynical and suggest that it takes the immediate pressure off them and covers\delays embarrassment. It also continues to lock out any other interested parties, which again is pure coincidence.
Engineered from the start! Remember that Brenda did not need to market the club to a wider audience as he had already identified the potential buyer.
If he was charged with obtaining the best deal for creditors, how did he know at that stage that a better offer would not surface as a result of a marketing campaign?
As I say, I am pleased that some feel better about things, but fact is the staff and supporters are still in limbo tonight.

This is just prolonging the agony. I'm trying to see it positively, and I do in some respects, but this seem like yet another hurdle

Why do any of you believe any of this after all it was Guilfoyle and Ridsdale who told you.Believe it when the money is in the bank and not before.

I am going to keep my champagne on ice until it is done. I have seen so many twists and turns in this sorry saga and I am always expecting another one. The one thing I can't figure is why did Zubar leave if it is really that close. Also I am deeply uneasy about the football leagues take on all this. It reminds me of musical chairs and I am wondering if we have just seen Ridsdale and Brendan park their asses leaving one of either Heany or the football league with some uncomfortable explaining to do. Still tense here in Callington.

The statement still sounds very much like all the other recent claims that BG has witnessed proof of funding. I'll believe it's all done when the ink has dried and not before.

How is today better from yesterday?

Ridsdale was given an objective of getting endorsement from the FL for transfer of the share. He hasn't.

Has anybody asked Ridsdale why he needs 14 seperate agreements to get FL endorsement? That suggests to me a whole bucket load of issues above and beyond a potential Heany dual interest. Ridsdale seems to be branding it as some sort of shield to hide behind when actually its a measure of how potentially risky this deal is. While it would be nice to know who the stakeholders are, the much more fundamental questions are why so many and what happens if one of the agreements are not signed?

BIL were supposed to have funding in place in May. Apparently they have secured funding. So it's not quite in place and its certainly not committed.

All that has happened is that exclusivity has expired and the joint administrators have reaffirmed their commitment to a bid that the FL has not been prepared to endorse. And this happened to the sound of popping champange corks.

Love him or loathe him you've got to admire Ridsdale.

Take a look at the clip on BBC sports the link is on the thread Ridsdale is exhausted, he is wriggling like a conger eel and making sure nothing his linked to him and that he was just reading brends statement and couldnt really comment on its factual content as funding was not his field.

Spot on Tim.
Still too many questions and I'm still unconvinced.

He's probably pi$$ed off because he's working with a bunch of amateurs who have no money...
