It doesn't. It is understood he Lombard personal guarantees are in favour of the three original Board members - Stapleton, Wrathall and Dennerly. The proposed virtual full payment of the secured creditor debt owed to Lombard by Heaney would have meant those personal guarantees would probably not have been called upon. Hence, the suspicion of the Heaney - Stapleton link.

Can thoroughly understand all the glee at the prospect of the "respected local businessman" ( ;) ) removing himself from the scene once and for all...... the only problem is that he hasn't yet done so, and I don't expect that he will.....

I think this is a negotiating ploy, with the motive of trying to heap pressure on Brendan and the FL to close the deal. And (for his point of view) it's not a bad ploy. Brendan has already said that he doesn't want a football club to die on his watch ( and that's one thing I do believe) and the FL DEFINITELY will not want to see Argyle go under...

So with no other realistic buyers in view (with the possible exception of Brent) and the club already teetering on the verge of total collapse.... might not this negotiating ploy actually work?

Far from there being mass celebrations tomorrow at Heany doing one, I can see a genuine prospect of him being the new owner! :banghead:

I sure as hell hope I'm wrong.
