Just a few quotes from people on twitter-

"So Peter Reid auctioned off his FA Cup medal to pay staff, paid the heating bill out of his own pocket and then Argyle sack him! #classy" - 'AdamCatterall'

"Peter Reid sacked as Plymouth boss. He auctioned his 1986 FA Cup Final loser's medal to help raise money for the club's unpaid staff. Thanks" - 'ShammonHafez'

"I can't believe Plymouth sacked Peter Reid after everything that has gone on. He stuck with the club through the hardest times" - 'MattKenny89'

"Peter Reid has been treated disgracefully by Plymouth - if he was sacked, and didn't walk out, they clearly have no class at all" - 'capitalgull'

This ones quite funny-
"Unbelieveable decision from Plymouth to fire Peter Reid. How stupid are football clubs? In administration he's kept them alive!" - 'benatbreakfast'

We are under attack

It's hard to imagine that after his time at Argyle he'd have nothing to say about it.

Anyone with a brain will know that the man who sacked him is not Plymouth Argyle.

well I'm sure all those 'outraged' will be more than happy to see him manage their club then? As he's such a great manager he shouldn't have a problem walking into a top management job first thing monday morning should he?

I can't believe Plymouth sacked Peter Reid after everything that has gone on. He stuck with the club through the hardest times

Sky are rerporting that Plymouth have "sacked" Peter Reid. That's the most disgraceful decision in history. Reidy was carrying the club.
- Mike Parry

Have plymouth really sacked Peter Reid? Wow, he did so much for that club - what disrespect.

Peter Reid sells his medals to help the club. Club sack him. Club will want loyalty off the players next for not getting paid for 12months

Some quotes from twitter.

I'm pro-Reid as much as anyone, but that comment from Parry is wrong, the staff have been carrying this club for a year.

I was delighted when I heard that Plymouth Argyle had finally got rid of Peter.

Then I clicked on the news and found out it was Reid who had got his marching orders.

Good luck finding a manager with more experience, who'll work for less money for the bottom club in the league, not to mention work for that backstabbing cancerous tumour Ridsdale.

The best of luck to you all: hope the new bid works out soon.

Peace

The only thing that surprises me about this is that it didn't happen sooner given Ridsdale's well documented opinions of Reid as a manager having sacked him at Leeds.

However this is hardly likely to improve Ridsdale's stock with fans, players and staff and could even be the last straw for them.

If someone went without pay for so long, was charged with managing and motivating his staff who also were facing extreme hardship without pay and was then sacked - could their ever be a more unfair dismissal?

PASTIE wrote: I think the rest of football will look on at this as harsh and unfair. Reid will be the innocent aggrieved victim, Ridsdale the heartless brutal and inhumane face of the corporation. Yes, results and performances are awful, but what did we really expect?

Ridsdale seems set on being the most unpopular man in football, too dark and sinister to be anything as playful as a pantomime villain. When we think our club couldn't possibly become any more embarrassing, we show that we can still sink to even lower depths.

Shame

I don't give a damn what the "rest of football" thinks. This our mess and we have to do what needs to be done to get ourselves out of it. If it means taking tough decisions which may be unpopular to the outside football world so be it, Ridsdale and Brent are to be congratulated for making such a decision.

Absolutely disgusting. Thanks Reidy for sticking in there. You are true gent. Well pafc have really surpassed themselves this time. Bottom of league no manager or coach. Wont be seeing me at home park anytime soon.

The publicity is good. At last the media will notice what has been going on. Why people are worried that individuals, many of whom have no knowledge of pafc, are being critical on Twitter beats me. As for upsetting Gray and Keys, so what?

Real football fans of other clubs will sympathasise and empathise with our staff and fan base. The club itself has been appallingly run and doesn't deserve sympathy.
