Real football fans of other clubs will sympathasise and empathise with our staff and fan base. The club itself has been appallingly run and doesn't deserve sympathy.

They have been our main outlet to the footballing fans of other clubs. They have talked about us pretty much every day for the last 2 weeks. The same cannot be said of other TV and radio.

A poll on here the other day said that 64% of Pasoti were behind Reid because of the circumstances he is working under. I guess Ridsdale didn't read that then? Good luck to the next bloke who comes in with no pay to work miracles with the shot shy youngsters we have on the books now.
All the best Reidy

I'm not suprised by this but I'm still saddened. We seem to habe been plumbing the depths of disrepute for a while now and I'm wondering how much further we're going to sink.

Ok, most fans are shocked and saddened but in the cold light of day it is the correct decision.
Peter Reid will have his place in Argyle's folklore and rightfully so but sadly it will not be because of what happened on the pitch.
He lost the confidence of the players, opposition manager's easily outwitted him during games with tactics and formations and Reid didn't know how to respond.
If anything Reid needed an experienced assistant, instead he had his novice brother lending a hand.

PAFC is bigger than any individual, we are about to enter a new dawn and avoiding relegation is part of any masterplan.

Sad day for the club,

Respect for Reidy , who stayed until the end.

Results speak but if you've got no tools , and no money , and you wonder if ihs support of the players strike was the signal of the end.

Only time will tell if this is a good move. Also depends who replaces him.

I am in the camp that Reid was a very honourable man, but, in hugely difficult circumstances just couldn't get the on field stuff right. Too much defensive fraility, too much switching of players (Larrieu, Cole & CB partners).

The club is about (hopefully) to make a fresh start, so perhaps a good time to get a new manager in (not Paul Hart though  ) and get some fresh ideas into our beleaguered squad.

Great sympathy with this viewpoint. I'm not about to walk away from Argyle. but for the first time I'm begining to understand the feelings of those who have done, or are considering it...

I actually thought Ridsdale was a good thing for Argyle when he first appeared on the scene. But he's been showing his true colours for a while now, and this is the clincher....

If this is a result-based busniess, Peter, then why the F**K are you still here?

Oh, sorry, we all know the answer to that one now! Silly question!

It is very difficult to make a rational comment on this without knowing the whole story - reading all the comments, some of the posters closer to the club seem to know more.

However, as a supporter who doesn't know the inside story, I am wholeheartedly disgusted with this. A man who has not been able to bring in the players he wanted, has had nothing to work with, had to keep morale of unpaid players, etc, etc,

A view supported by my mates of other teams too (a lot of Reading fans my way!!) - the one word that keeps coming up - DISGUSTING!

I too want to place my thanks on record to Peter Reid - good luck for the future.

We thoroughly deserve to get crucified for this by all and sundry.

For me this is our lowest point.

Outrageous.

Personally I am unhappy though I realise its probably for the best.

Peter Reid your a top bloke and thanks for everything.

When you say the Trusts view,I take it you mean the Society Board. As a member you and the rest of the members are the Trust, not just the people on the board. They are there to represent the members and not just their own views. Looking at this thread and one or two others,I don't see how the Board can give a view because the majority of posters on here don't seem to like what has happened and Reid had the support of the fans in a poll but others think it's right. The Board can't really represent it's members when they are split without upsetting one half or the other.

Idiotic quote of the day. With fans like this who would want to manage this club?

Is it not possible that the disillusionment among the playing staff has a lot more to do with the anger aimed at the administrators and the boardroom, which has been put into words by Fletcher and Larrieu? Not a loss of faith in the manager? I would be wary about treating the assertion that "Reid lost the dressing room" as a fact.

These were my thoughts. Most of the side are too inexperienced to know when a manager's "lost his way" and the older ones (Fletch, Ro etc.) are far too professional and understanding of the situation re BG/PR/JB to put the blame on Reid.
