Outrageous.

I agree, and I fear that there is little doubt we will be....

Already had three texts from non-Argyle supporting mates, basically telling me the club DESERVES to go to the wall now!

While that's bollocks, I think that's going to be a pretty widespread view across the country!

Thanks a lot, Peter. Nice one. You've really played a blinder there!

Idiotic quote of the day. With fans like this who would want to manage this club?

PS I've made it my rule not to be rude to anyone on here but if anyones going to start throwing insults at me for daring to have an opinion then you're getting it straight back, dont like it? then dont do it.

Note by Site Admin. You failed. Anything else with terminology of that Ilk, your account will be de-activated.

sorry like what? did I swear? or am I just being picked on? infact I've seen 100 times worse on here, whats your problem

I think the word 'tubefeeders' shows what you are mate.

Clever?

Just had a thought... Ridsdale/Reid

Maybe, just maybe this was a release of mutual consent, but Ridsdale wanted to make sure Reidy got some money at the end of things by way of a "Thank You". So instead of announcing it as mutual consent (which may mean Reid gets nothing) Ridsdale has decided to take the potential flack and say he's been sacked.

This would mean that Ridsdale has done something honourable so I'm struggling to believe I even thought up this possible scenario.

Yes, I'm aware their is probably more truth in the fact that Heaney is blonde, but it's just an idea.

(Apologies if this should have gone into another thread, but thought it would get lost in some of the other threads)
Thanks to Plymouth Brighton still exist. Karma is repaying that favour.

for a mod you really should pay more attention, I never said that. Please re-read and even if I had whats a 'tube feeder' obviously something terrible to be banned for.

Not an Argyle fan but this news made me feel very sad this morning.

Really do like Peter Reid, yeah you lot have had a torrid time on the pitch but like people have said, Peter Reid isn't at fault for that IMO. I read about him auctioning his FA Cup losers medal off to pay one of your bills, not many people would do that, just shows what type of bloke Reidy is.

The only positive to this would be if it had something to do with the potential new owners not wanting him at the helm when they takeover, if not then I can't see anyone realistically coming in and doing better.

Best of luck anyways, to Argyle and Peter Reid!

I really feel sorry for Peter Reid, I hope he has some good memories about his time at Plymouth. I'm sure we must rank currently as the worst run club of all time.

If it turns out to be player power I will Boo the players if they can't turn it around, after all I don't think Reidy was the one who couldn't defend, create of score!!!

If it was Fletch and Roo lets see how cramped your style was, so now go and win some games?

Peter Reid will have his place in Argyle's folklore and rightfully so but sadly it will not be because of what happened on the pitch.
He lost the confidence of the players, opposition manager's easily outwitted him during games with tactics and formations and Reid didn't know how to respond.
If anything Reid needed an experienced assistant, instead he had his novice brother lending a hand.

PAFC is bigger than any individual, we are about to enter a new dawn and avoiding relegation is part of any masterplan.

Interesting quote do you think the same about Risdale as many Argyle fans do or are you an apologist for him?

PATHETIC! PATHETIC! PATHETIC!

To sack Peter Reid at this moment after all he has done is disgusting.

If I could post on here what I really wanted to say then I probably would end up with legal action against me.

Absolute bloody disgrace. Argyle like football in general are morally bankrupt.

If you weren't being paid and hadn't been paid properly for months, how well would you be performing in your job?

The reason why performances are bad and the dressing room is so depressed is entirely down to the financial situation. Players have mortgages to pay and families to support. If you're not being paid for what you do, you lose your self-respect.

To say that the performances are bad because the team have lost confidence in the manager is utterly below the belt, to a man who doesn't deserve that kind of treatment.

Edit: On the other hand, at £200K a week I'm not sure what Torres' excuse is.

I echo everyone's feeling of sympathy and goodwill towards Reidy, and I totally accept he has had been dealt the worst set of cards during his time here...

HOWEVER

My gut feel is this is the right brave decision, and whilst many will always want Ridsdale to be the villain. I think we needed this to have any chance of turning this season around.

This is an incredibly hard decision, yet to me , suggests a few things:
- we have something lined up?
- I sense the new ownership would have surely been consulted on this decision?
- Maybe Peter Reid himself had had enough and this has been mutually agreed?

For those suggesting Ridsdale as the root of all evil, I am interested to enquire - what does he gain by such a decision? (if of course, he solely , made it???) and lets not forget, the real damage to the club was inflicted prior to Ridsale's arrival. I still think Ridsdale, needs this club to get back on its feet as much as anyone, and therefore I would stick with him as Chief Executive. A brave decision, made in the nick of time, to give us a fighting chance of surviving in this league

In summary, I truly wish Reid all the best and hope he can be fully compensated for everything he has done. Whilst we mention sympathy etc, I still feel Mariner wasn't given a fair chance. But again, he went because of results

Whatever, more than ever we and those players remain PLYMOUTH ARGYLE, so stick together everyone and get yourselves to HP on Saturday and lets really get behind them!!!!

KEEP THE FAITH

Ever the optimist, I desperately hope the ownership debacle is finally reaching a satisfactory conclusion, and crucially we get the next appointment right.

IF this has been done now to avoid paying Reid any compensation (as in admin he gets no payment yet out of admin he gets the 400k a season he is entitled to), then im afraid the trust board need to consider their position regarding the takeover.

No takeover = no club,
BUT does it REALLY have to come at the cost of avoiding payment to someone who stood by the club ???????????????

More info required from those of priviliged position..................
One day you'll realise you're on own & no ones coming to save you.
