Ridiculous appointment. Hope I'm horribly wrong.

It's worked for Eddie Howe, Karl Robinson, AVB... What have we got to lose? If it's not happening for the team half a dozen to ten games in, we start looking for that more experienced manager.
Let's give the lads a chance...
Good luck

They still need at least two strikers and someone to replace him to allow him to manage properly. :scarf:

All we can do is wait and see. One thing I would say though is that the team didn't seem to lack effort in the two games I've seen this season, so is motivation the problem or plain tactics?

Usual suspects, so I wouldn't be too bothered. :)

Don't think people are getting on Fletcher's back at all and as for usual suspects what a silly generalisation to a differerence of opinions. To be honest Fletcher as senior outfield pro was the obvious stop gap appointment and Ro as club captain would also make some sense. But this has to be only a stop gap, there can not be any serious mileage in it surely despite our financial position which again is now only hopefully stop gap. Fletcher has his playing duties albeit not for a few weeks, neither have any coaching experience and Ro is far too nice a guy for the cut throat world of football management. How often do we see a handful of good results for a temp end in a permanent appointment and then the rot follows. Fine, let them hold things together but the next permanent manager has to be a candidate with the experience and hunger to get us out of this mess.

Are u saying that Fletch hasn't the hunger or passion? I think passion is one of the reasons he got sent off on saturday.

I hope those 2 poor s0ds aren't reading these comments, because they are a total misrepresentation of what most argyle fans think

I can't be dissapointed with these guys running the club.

But am extremely sad that Reid has lost his job. The football world is a crazy one where loyalty is a very rare commodity. Peter Reid showed our club loyalty beyond belief and I can't get my head around why we are not able to give him a fair crack when the off field stuff gets sorted.

The best we could do under the circumstances and they know what the players are capable of so that should give them an advantage over anyone else coming in!!

Is Fletcher serving a touchline ban or not?

No, I don't see where I said Fletcher didn't have the hunger or passion. I said the new manager would need both expereience and hunger. Fletch has no experience of coaching never mind managing. I don;t know what his hunger levels are as regards management any more than you do. The word passion I didn't use but is what you used to support him being sent off on Saturday. Do you therefore feel he has shown a distinct lack of passion to date in his long carreer of 430 matches with this being his first and only sending off?

Wasn't sure about Fletch & Ro when announced, but really have come around to the idea.

As a pair, I genuinely think they have the personality, skills and respect required to do a very good job.

Ro will be a great number 2, never have the pleasure of meeting him, but he seems like he'd be very approachable, and a calming influence.

They will need some luck, but as others have pointed out, if we can get any kind of result on Saturday it will boost confidence and give a platform to build on.
With wages for all (hopefully) soon to follow I really can see light at the end of the tunnel.

Wonder if there will some chants of "Fletcher & Ro" like Pompey used to worship Harry and Jim

If things dont work out and a new manager is eventually brought in, that could make it awkward for Fletch to stay. Heres hoping he succeds, Eddie Howe #2, the comparisons are there. Good luck Fletch and Ro.
