Just a suggestion like, how about a board of J. Brent, P. Jones, N. Warren and M. Dunford

ohhh and thanks for what you have done for our club must go to P. Ridsdale

I wish to thank Ridsdale for taking us out of the hands of the incompetents who got us into this mess and for the work he did early doors to save us. Other than that, goodbye and good luck, lets hope that we get a good footballing chairman to run us soon.
I must be phsycic.

Having read IJN's, Chris Webb's, (and others), reports from various meetings etc., it seems to me that he pulled us away from the brink on a few occasions ?
Although he is no saint, and I have been dubious about his involvement with the administrators and Heaney, I still feel that his "slipperyness" worked to our advantage and that he did our fight for survival more good than harm. I do believe that without his involvement we may have been gone months ago.
I also feel that he would have been a very useful Chairman/CEO for the club...under Brent's financial control.
However, that may not appeal to him so he will be off to pastures new with his reputation possibly repaired slightly !?
Anyway, I say thanks for your effort and good luck in any future "project".

Having already said he should go over the obscene exit of Peter Reid I can't hide my pleasure that he has announced he also will be going.

I wonder when the decision was made and by whom? On my weekly email from Argyle, which arrived about 30 minutes ago there is no mention of his departure. Strange.

Like others I will remember him for the good work he did early on, which undoubtedly kept us going and masters of our own destiny to a certain extent. latterly he has appeared to have seen his personal goal of owning Argyle take priority over the greater good.Thats life, I could see what he was trying to do, but glad that it didnt turn out for him. In a straight fight Brent v BIL/Ridsdale was a walkover as the latter had no money. Now the emphasise will be on Mr Brent to show what he is made of.

So, farewell PR, to me you will always be the Riddler, never as bad as people ad or as god as your smirk suggested.

I think Mr Brent is more than competent in putting a Board of Directors together  .

Spot on greenpig!! Thanks from me too. I hope we don't 'rue the day' so to speak, I think the guy had a lot to offer, but it looks like we'll never know. Anyway, I'm pleased the 'anti-PR mob' are happy...even if they never saw past his reputation. Oh well, back to being a Big City Small Club, at least we still have a team.

I agree with both of you.

Ridsdale on a leash on a Brent ticket was an exciting prospect for me.

To hear the rumoured arrival of Peter Jones smacks of local/parochial small time.
I sincerely hope I am wrong but I fear the "Biggest City Tag" to never reach the top division will stick with us for years to come.
As I said I earlier in this thread I just hope that JB has a young starlet tucked away within his Akkeron operation armed with fresh and invigorating ideas to really push Argyle forward now.
Pay him up and thank him JB.. Mr Reid will always be an Argyle Legend.

JB is highly unlikely to give him anything like the freedom that he thought he would get were he to effectively own the club. His motives are to be his own boss (in some shape of form) rather than being beholden to another owner and that wont happen here now. Even he must also realise that he has split the fan base and that he will always be tainted by what has happened both on and off the pitch during the past year or so.

At the end of the day his great plan has back fired upon him and there are no viable opportunities left for him at Argyle. The writing is on the wall in 20 foot high letters and he has finally read what is up there. I am sure also that some poor offering is waiting in the wings for his limitless talent and he cannot wait to get his hands on another golden opportunity.

Assume a bit more about what he's thinking if you want mate

Sorry to see him leave although it was inevitable once the Brent bid was accepted.
I hope JB has got people in the pipeline to run the football club, Dunford would be a good addition but not as CE and I can't see what Peter Jones except for passion is going to bring to the club, if I remember correctly he only tagged along side Michael Foot when he joined the board.

Overall I would be delighted to see Peter Jones back on the board. I haven't been too impressed with some of his sniping from the sidelines in recent months, though it appeared to stop a couple of months ago, but we could certainly do with his marketing, media and PR abilities to build bridges with past and potential new suppliers, sponsors, disillusioned fans etc. He is a fan first and foremost and I would trust him not to put personal greed before the well being of the club as some of his former board members did.

With my cautiously optimistic head on...............

Brilliant news. Having stood firm on what I wanted from the off (and just as importantly what I didn't want) and already having seen Heaney and Guilfoyle depart the picture Ridsdale leaving would be the final piece in my jigsaw. We're on the vinegar strokes of getting our club back, resurgam is just around the corner. However..............

With my cynical head on.............

Tomorrow we have a big game, with lots of visitors who are likely to be far more militant than our number have been to date. They won't come brandishing champagne and handshakes. With their likely focus likely to be against him what better way to take the steam out of their venom than this?. As many have alluded, i'll believe it when I see it. He's already talking about a consultancy period, i'd welcome that, a handover to a new CEO. But with all that's gone on and all the while he's saying goodbye whilst there's at least one foot still in the door i'm going to remain suspicious.

So, good news............potentially.

Not yet on the club site it seems but there has been a media release issued today.

In it Ridsdale says always preferred Brent and nothing over last 6 months has changed his mind on that.

Has done the job he came to do.

Has agreed to make himself available to assist James for a limited period of time on a consultancy basis.

Full transcript should appear soon I guess.
