Media have been onto me all morning and I have spoken to Peter Ridsdale himself.

There will be a statement from P&A either today/tomorrow hopefully confirming James Brent as being on the home straight.

Peter Ridsdale has agreed to work on a temporary basis until the new board is put in place and then leave the Club (3months).

Without a doubt Peter has played a key role in saving Argyle and we will always be grateful for that.

This certainly adds a very interesting dimension to tomorrows supporters meeting at the Pyramid Suite (11am - sharp). Please make every effort to attend.

Another day, another twist...........

Chris

You might be grateful for it but I think all he has done is delay the process for selfish reasons and for that I will always hate the man with a passion, maybe you should say you are grateful for it and not we.
7 scumbags down and only 1 to go before we get our Argyle back!

I have spoken to both Peter Ridsdale and James Brent and the Original post is the correct position mate.

I still won't crack the champagne open till he has actually left.

I don't mean to be the party pooper here, but we seem to forget that its not just James Brent who is bidding for the club, everyone seems to think he he is assured of acquiring Argyle but Peter Buttivant has put in a bid aswell. Even if it does look as though BIL's bid is dead, it isn't quite a one horse race

Bleddy Marvellous!

Oh for a win on Saturday just to put some icing on that substantial cake.

This seems to be the ideal scenario for him and us, we get to use his undoubted skills in that short term. He can add to his CV by claiming that it was him wot saved Argyle.

I just couldnt see him staying anyway, Brent's programme of organic growth just wouldnt have left enough in it for him.
It's not easy being green but it's what I want to be.

It IS certainly possible to have somebody in charge who doesn't take a penny out of the club, and be successful.

Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins hasn't been paid since he took over nearly ten years ago.

We must have a few fans with a reasonable level of business nous who can basically keep a steady ship, make good managerial appointments and take the club onwards and upwards.

If you ask me that would be perfect. :huddle:

here comes the Riddler spin campaign

More Rids: I've always said my role was 2 find right solution 4 #pafc and, on completion of Brent takeover, I see that as ‘job done’

I also think that Peter Ridsdale has been invaluable to our club.
Having read IJN's, Chris Webb's, (and others), reports from various meetings etc., it seems to me that he pulled us away from the brink on a few occasions ?
Although he is no saint, and I have been dubious about his involvement with the administrators and Heaney, I still feel that his "slipperyness" worked to our advantage and that he did our fight for survival more good than harm. I do believe that without his involvement we may have been gone months ago.
I also feel that he would have been a very useful Chairman/CEO for the club...under Brent's financial control.
However, that may not appeal to him so he will be off to pastures new with his reputation possibly repaired slightly !?
Anyway, I say thanks for your effort and good luck in any future "project".

My goodness. It has been a busy week hasn't it?

A win on Saturday and Peter Jones appointed on to the board would be a tonic.

Well, it's just so much better now than for many a long day. Hooray!

Good luck to Fletch and the boys tomorrow, I sure they'll benefit from the buzz around HP.

I agree with you Sharky. Ridsdale took you right to the edge of the cliff and if it wasn't for the players and staff working for nothing it could have been the end off you. I'm sure in the course of time we will hear what renumeration he took for his services but thankfully he didn't get the grand prize of a club for a quid.

He is already trying to rewrite history with "Brent was my preferred bidder" when all along he was courting BIL because it offered him the better deal. I remember Guilfoyle saying it was "Peter marketing the club" and I thought at the time this will all end in tears. If Brent had lost interest because of the BIL sham you would be absolutely {Bad language removed by Site Admin}, but fortunately enough people woke up and instigated the CP. I wonder how close Brent was close to walking away because of the Brent/Heaney/Ridsdale stitch up?

I still can't believe there are some people on here who still fall under the Ridsdale spell but I don't blame Chris for being diplomatic as Brent & Co haven't got the keys to the club yet.

Well that news ought to add a couple of thousand season tickets.

All those that spouted forth about not buying one until Ridsdale had "done one".
There is no argument to equal a happy smile!

Spot on greenpig!! Thanks from me too. I hope we don't 'rue the day' so to speak, I think the guy had a lot to offer, but it looks like we'll never know. Anyway, I'm pleased the 'anti-PR mob' are happy...even if they never saw past his reputation. Oh well, back to being a Big City Small Club, at least we still have a team.
