You may be right Andy (although it was never certain) and it was a risk few, me included, would have liked to see us take.

I was just trying to make the point that actions have consequences and many actions taken during administration have cost the club more than absolutely necessary. Resulting in such high fees. That for me is the rub. The administration hasn't been run well but there is no penalty for that just a larger payout for P&A. A well run administration wouldn't deserve so much indignation when presenting their costs. I'm sure we are actually singing from the same hymn sheet

The bit about HMRC is fact though and that is probably the only thing that warrants anything resembling thanks, to Ridsdale. None of the Malignant 7 had any inkling about how the WUOs were to be dealt with. Ridsdale had, of course, seen them all before and knew exactly how to deal with them.

There was another WUO a bit later on that NOBODY was aware of, it was just sort of snuck in the back door. However, if it hadn't been for POSTEY and his beady little eyes, they would have had us again.

By going into Admin, HMRC couldn't touch us with anyone's barge pole. It was probably the safest thing to do, at the time.

There is a sense of indignation that the longer Brenda delays the resolution the more he earns, it's like a plumber on Rogue Traders!

I would like to think there are some legal routes for people to sue the M7 for making purchases they must have known they couldn't pay for eg the pitch

There always used to be this big, scary warning that we young, married couples were "issued with"...NEVER write out and issue a cheque when you know that there is no money in the account to cover it!

The original "exclusivity" that Guilfoyle was after was £1million.

However, Heaney paid £300,000 and on the strength of that, and that alone, was granted PB status. At that point, the outstanding £700,000 became null and void.

Blame Guilfoyle...yet another of his stupendous decisions.

So Guilfoyle took the task on and took it on unfunded. This has never happened before. Might never happen again. If we come out of this his tenure will be seen as an unprecedented, spectacular success in business insolvency circles across the country.

That's a fair point.
While we have all been close to the process and know the exact details of each of Guilfoyle's mistakes in the wider world of business and insolvency he will be looked upon as some kind of hero.
As you say, an unfunded administration has never happened before but that's only because the Argyle staff and players have deferred their wages for months, they have effectively saved the club and enhanced Guilfoyle's reputation in his insolvency circle.

A few months ago I thought Guilfoyle would never get another football administration job but thanks to James Brent he is about to pull Argyle through so I think now other clubs in trouble might want to appoint him.

All we can do is warn fans of other clubs on what to expect.

It really is ironic how a company gets appointed to sort out a cash crippled buisness and in return charges rates off £279.21 per hour.
