You will see from local media reports today (although they are outdated as major progress was made after they went to print - just shows that pasoti is ahead of the game as always) that we are not over the line yet and James Brent has a lot of hard work and negotiations ahead of him.
I had a positive discussion with James Brent last night and alongside his legal team he is giving it everything to own Argyle by the weekend.
There are obstacles in the way but these are reducing by the hour as the focus on saving Argyle becomes more intense by the hour. We are truly in the arena now where its do or die as far as the Club is concerned.
I personally would like to pay tribute to the work that James has done.
He got further than BIL (agreements with key stakeholders in principal) in one week than they got in 5 months. He has now steamrolled through over 500 documents and 300 separate individual negotiations within 3 weeks. This is a huge achievement.
We are now at the business end of the season. Today and tomorrow is a bit like the play off final. For months now we have worked our backsides off to get into a position where the man we always wanted has a change of saving us. It really is all or nothing. We have total faith in James Brent to deliver. He is our Ronnie Mauge – minus the gun.
To those who may stand in the way of the takeover (and we are now down to just a couple) no naming and shaming, no harassment. You know who you are. Some have done great things for the Club, some have not. Whichever pot you fall into we would simply urge you to play your part now in saving the Club. This is not the time to play brinkmanship; this is not the time to carry personal vendettas. This is about the future of Plymouth Argyle. Nothing is bigger than that.
Onto the idea of this thread………….
I know from speaking to James that he has been shocked by some of the behind the scenes activities during the purchase of Argyle. He really has seen the ugly side of the beautiful game. We have told him (and he has witnessed for himself) that beauty in football comes not only on the pitch but also in the stands.
Over the next two days, all of the pressures will heighten to a new level, no doubt the game of poker will reach new extremes and the focus on James Brent will be greater to deliver. I know he is built to handle it but there is one little thing we are asking supporters to do today on pasoti.
When PandA sit down to negotiate with James Brent they are alone.
When the Football League comes to a decision they are alone.
When anyone threatening the future of Argyle sits down they are alone.
When James Brent sits down to save Argyle he speaks on behalf of the Green Army. Tens of thousands of fans from all over the world. We need to put those eyes on the opposition and put our voices behind James Brent.
Today lets enable James Brent to step into those negotiations, take a deep breath and know he has the total support of the fan base.
James Brent normally likes to take a browse of pasoti. I get the feeling he may have been a little bit busy recently.
What we are asking supporters to do today is leave comments on this thread supporting James and maybe telling him what Argyle and his efforts to save the Club means to you. Later today I will send the thread to him at an opportune moment.
Let’s for once make this a thread that stays on track.
James Brent is on the home straight, let’s roar him over the line.
