Dear Mr Brent.

Thank-You. Thank-You for everything you've done to keep this club fighting, to keep this club for another 125 years. When I reach my retirement age, I'll be sure to keep telling my Grandchildren about the players, staff, manager, fans, and what you did to keep this club alive and to make sure we could all still go to Home Park every other Saturday and watch the sport we love the most. Hopefully you'll be the man who can take this club to Wembley, and who knows, maybe to the Championship and beyond?

Once again, Thank-You and good luck.

Connor, aged 14.

Hello James,

My first game was against Arsenal in 1983. Not coming from a football loving family, i went with a friend, I was 11 years old. He asked me who I was supporting that evening, and once I established that Arsenal were two divisions above Argyle I opted for Arsenal. My Arsenal supporting career lasted until the Green Army started singing and chanting. I've only one club and thats Plymouth Argyle.

Since then, I've been a season ticket holder whos also gone to a lot of away games, and I've been exiled in another country and unable to attend games. The first result I look for is Argyle's, and I can spend hours and hours reading and talking about the team in green.

Imagine my horror, when I started to contemplate life without them.

Thank you for standing up and not allowing us to die. The finishing line is in sight and I'm right with you and your team and willing us all over the line. So long as you're working with the benefit of Argyle close to your heart you will have the backing of the magnificent Green Army.

There are good times ahead, and you will not regret your decision.

:D :D :D

Dear James

Saw my first game in November 1960 (we beat Derby County 4-2) and have never thought of following any other team. Argyle means so much to so many people like me. I don't think anyone ever thought that things would get as bad as they have over the last few months or how close we would get to losing the club we all support.

Thank you for all your amazing efforts to save Argyle. We (you, the staff, the players and the fans) now have a fantastic opportunity to establish a community-based club that is built on a sound business principles and run professionally and transparently.

A club that we can all be proud of once again.

James
Back in the dark days of the club first going into administration I wrote you an email asking for your assistance in saving Plymouth Argyle. I never expected to receive a reply as you were such a busy man but lo and behold, you did take the time from your busy schedule to send words of encouragement about not allowing the club to die. Ever since that day I have been willing you to take this club over. You sir, are a gentleman of the first order and I will be proud to be a member of the Green Army with you as it's general!

Good luck in your remaining negoitations, perhaps Chris could help!

We are Argyle - We are the Green Army - We will never die

James,

Many thanks for all the hard work you have put in towards saving our beloved club. The passion, hard work and loyalty shown by yourself and everybody connected with the club over the last 6-8 months has been truly remarkable. This really is a special club.

I no longer live in Plymouth but I still make it to my fair share of away games as well as the occasional trip to Home Park. The away following we get is truly staggering considering the terrible situation we have been in. If there is one positive that has come from all this mess, it is the unity and togetherness of everyone striving to achieve one common goal, the salvation of Plymouth Argyle Football Club!

All the very best in the final stages of the process, we'll all 100% behind you.

James J

James,

Thank you for giving us cause to believe in a brighter future for the club we love - in fact a future of any kind. When all is done and you've saved us from extinction, the media and casual observer will imply, 'What was all the fuss about - football clubs never go to the wall, they always get saved at the 11th hour.' Of course we know only too well that's not remotely the full story, and as we've commented on PASOTI there's one hell of a story to be written here. Thanks for becoming part of the Green Army and for making that happy ending first believable and then, fingers crossed, real.

When my greandfather played bowls for Plymouth Hoe or Devon he passed his season ticket to my dad. I was sneaked through the turnstiles and sat on his lap in the grandstand. England were champions of the World. In my first full season I plotted Argyle's league position in Div 2 throughout the season. We were relegated with Rotherham. It didn't put me off.

Now my son wears his Argyle shirts in a sea of red and blue shirts. We live far away from Plymouth but the wearers of the red and blue live similar distances from their teams. Comments are often made; these days we get the sympathy vote.

We support through thin and thinner. There has been the occasional high. Just now seems to be the thinnest. It's never been about glory hunting, otherwise we wouldn't do it. If Argyle lose again, there's always another game to look forward to. It's a great distraction from real troubles in life.

The most encouraging thing about JB is that he hasn't promised Premiership football within five years. Those that make such promises only hope that there will be enough cash to line their own pockets. They don't care about our club, only themselves. JB promises a pragmatic and prudent approach. That's good enough for me. Argyle has been part of four generations of my family. If JB can save the club he can count on future generations of loyal support.

Dear James,

I'm 15 years old so can't remember the rollercoaster of the 90's but I do remember two promotions and two consecutive relegations, this crisis over the last year or so combined with the threat of extinction as a club has bought many Argyle fans closer in unity, on PASOTI there has always been disagreement and debate on certain topics of the club such from things as petty as the club badge to controversial characters like Todd, Gardner, Stapleton and others who got us in this state in the first place. All we wanted though was our club to survive and you are our saviour and until we start climbing up the table you will realise what a huge fanbase this city has. Not once since you've been the preffered bidder have I felt there were any hidden catches as you've portrayed yourself as a gentleman of honesty, integrity and committment. The moment that defined my 100% faith in you though was when you were sitting in the Devonport like a true member of the Green Army, you might not of realised it but at times in that game you were ecstatic when Argyle scored and got frustrated when they made the odd mistake, just like a true football fan!

So thank you a thousand times, from all the Argyle fans that don't have PASOTI and once again for all the ones that do!!!

Yours sincerely,

Ryan Ferguson

James

Unlike many, I actually introduced my dad and my wife to Argyle in 1992. I've been green-blooded' since my first game in 1973, making the long trip up from SW Cornwall (well it was a long way as a non-driving teenager then) to most home games and several away games each season. Dad loved the Devonport End from the start and even learned a few new words (which he still uses most inappropriately in the nursing home). Unfortunately he's too ill to go now, but every time we speak he asks after Argyle. We both share the same passion for the best team in the land.
Thank you for allowing our dreams and passions for Argyle to continue and not be dispatched to the past as memories.
I hope in years to come, a new South Stand can be built and named in your honour as the saviour of Plymouth Argyle.
I/we are truly grateful for everything you and your background staff have done.

Argyle till I die!

James- I've certainly had my ups and downs as an Argyle fan.

I'm 18, and in my 10 years of supporting I've seen two title wins, two relegations and much much more. The thought that my club would go out of existence is unimaginable. Thank you so, so much for all the effort you are making to see that this club survives. It's great to see you're already catching "the bug" from the Macclesfield and Accrington games, and make sure you know that your green army are on standby to mobilise should we be needed to get past any last obstacles that remain on the path to getting this deal over the line. Thank you so much once more, would love to meet you one day mate! :nworthy:

Hello James,

I've been supporting Plymouth Argyle since my first match in 1961. Fifty years of joy and despair, ups and downs, laughter and tears, all in pretty-much equal measure, but I wouldn't have had it any other way. Argyle means so much to so many of us, as it has to generations that have gone before. As you know, the club's history is rich and eventful; this isn't the first time that it has been on the edge, but a knight in shining armour has always saved the day, and you are that man in its 125th year. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for what you have done in these last few months and for what I'm certain you will do in the coming years. Argyle will go on to delight (and frustrate!) future generations because of you, and the City of Plymouth will be so much the richer for it.
