James,

Thanks for all your hard work in saving the club and rescuing us from oblivion. Without you and the other hard-working pilgrims, we'd have a massive void to fill in our lives.

Thanks again

ALL CLOSED AND THE ABOVE HAVE BEEN SENT TO JAMES.

Keep posting though because we will get this thread put into a nice folder and presented to James Brent upon the completion of the deal.

Very grateful for all that James Brent is doing to save the club - the enormous effort involved, let alone the finance. Have supported Argyle in my family from Gandfather to father to me and now also my children. It means a lot. It's a passion which cannot be fully explained. Thank you so much.

Thank you.

We promise not to moan, complain, or make sarky comments in our future together.

Dear Mr. Brent

I got back from a week away from home late this afternoon and I have just waded through all 10 pages of this thread. I feel very emotional reading what other members of the Green Army have written. I too have a long family connection to Argyle. My grandfather, uncle and father were Argyle supporters. My father first took me to Home Park when I was about eight, not long after League football restarted after the War. We always stood in the Devonport End – he and my uncle near the back, my cousin and I at the very front behind the goal. Later my brother played as a junior for the Argyle team. I have been attending Argyle matches on and off for about 65 years and have been a regular/season ticket holder since I retired 13 years ago. My son is now an Argyle fan and we have great hopes for the grandchildren too.

It is difficult to find something original to write because others have said it all so eloquently already, but I still want to add my appreciation for all that you have done for Argyle up to now.

You have persevered in the face of much adversity over the last few months and you have worked wonders in your negotiations so far. You have the gratitude of all of us for that – including so many, like me, who did not particularly back your original bid. But we’re all on side now and I feel confident that you will be able to take the process through to success.

I suspect that I have missed the deadline for posts to be forwarded to you but I felt the need to go on record with my feelings anyway.

Good luck with the next few days and, again, many thanks.

Hi James,

Thank you for trying to save our club.

I can remember the tears in my eyes when at the game after Sturrock left and we were away at Notts County, the 2500 strong Green Army sang Argyle Till I Die 20 mins before kick off and I wasn't the only one.

Some of my greatest moments have been watching Argyle

Bristol City 4-0
Port Vale 5-1 away
Wednesday Away at Hillsborough
Lincoln (Stonebridge)

Let's keep it going and keep it Green...

Dear Mr Brent

As a fan in exile, I have watched in horror over the last couple of years as the club I love have been brought to the very brink. I started to think it might not even be there when I was able to come home again. My message is simple, and echoes so many on here already.

Thank you.

Best wishes

Nick

James
I'm pleased to read that my own story is reflected in the experiences of so many on here.
My first match was in 1969 on Boxing Day when we beat Torquay 6-0 four goals from milkman Mike Bickle and two from Norman Piper.
From the seventies matches that stick in my head include the Blackburn game when 28,000 packed Home Park so God knows how 38,000 got in for games against Pele's Santos and Everton in the cup. Attending the semi-final match on a wednesday afternoon against Man City was special and, I felt, deserved, after the frightening experience of seeing the greens winning away at Birmingham during the winter of discontent.
The colour of Villa Park in our only FA Cup semi-final appearance stays with me vividly as do the chants against Elton John from the 28,000 strong Green Army.
Unfortunately I missed our most recent glorious championship winning seasons as life took me abroad for 18 years. However upon returning to the UK I started taking my son with me and he soon picked up the green bug. He has always been proud to wear the green oop here where Wednesday and Blades fans are never slow to demonstrate their allegiances and poke fun at those who do not share them. Over the last year it has even be easy for Rotherham, Doncaster and Barnsley fans to question our sanity but it is what we are and what we are proud to be.
I pray that your intervention will enable my son to personally witness and experience the great occasions I have enjoyed and that will stay with me until my dying day.
Thank you for your patience, commitment and vision.
