I have been away from a computer and on my return I read the shock ( to me ) news of you standing down Chris. I have now read your 'statement', you have such a way with words, I felt goose-bumps on my neck as I read your thanks to many people who have worked alongside you.

What a Leader you have been Chris, I know you were part of a 'team' but you led from the front, always inspiring the rest of us, encouraging, supporting, communicating brilliantly. I am proud to be a Trust member, I am proud to be a member of the Green Army. I can understand why you are stepping aside Chris, yes , it IS the right moment for you for the reasons given. I will always admire you, respect you and thank you for leading the way out of the mire and onto safe, solid ground.

Well done Chris, I have never met you, maybe never will but the name Chris Webb will always be part of Argyle History. I am not sure of how long I have before I go to look for the Grandstand seat near Michael Foot, but by God I am delighted I am still here to see Argyle exit Administration and hopefully start the climb upwards to where we should be with the supporters we have.You have helped achieve that Chris, THANK YOU.

I would like to thank you Chris for the huge part you have played in saving PAFC, it has been a long journey and at some stages I have wondered if we would ever reach this stage as a football club...

Although I have never met you I like many others will not forget the last year and the role you played to get us where we are today, I don't think there could have been a better man to have achieved what you have achieved this year...

We are forever in debt to you and people like yourself that have brought the start of a new era of Plymouth Argyle FC, Thank You Chris :nworthy:

Typical bleddy Janner! Go on, bugger off then, just when things are about to get sorted you wimp out & leave a mess for others to clear up. :D

Seriously though, without you holding us all together we would have struggled to overcome the many obstacles to keeping Argyle afloat so, whilst thanks are due to everyone involved in saving the club, you do deserve the accolades given. The beard on the other hand needs to be shaved off with a blunt razor in the centre circle at HP by a bunch of blind drunk fans from amongst the Pasoti faithful.

Thank you for helping keep Argyle alive. :nworthy:

Anyone who can unite pasoti and A T D (http://argyletalkdemocratic.forumotion.co.uk/t460-thank-you-chris-webb) in unstinting praise truly deserves the epithet LEGEND.

Thanks for your work.
I want my game back!

I'd like to add my thanks to you Chris, you were the man for the moment and I particularly applaud your decision to step down now, building a truly independent and strong Trust will probably be a thankless task but better suited to somebody with different characteristics than your good self as you seem to recognise. Once again my sincere thanks.

Chris,

As you will see I seldom post on PASOTI, but I was at the Senoir Greens meeting and heard you speak and these words kept comoing into my Head :-

When I am down and, oh my soul so weary;
When troubles come come and my heart burdened so;
The I am still and and wait here in the silence;
until you come post awhile for me.

You raise me up, so I can walk on mountains;
you raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... to more than I can be.

Thank you very much for what you have done

Thank you so much for all you've put in.You've really put yourself on the line, put yourself in the way of some very powerful people and refused to back down. You've shown passion mixed with maturity and restraint - a rare combination. I found the meetings in the Guildhall and the Pavillions truly inspiring; it could have descended into a shouting match or something much worse, but you got the right balance between respect and frankness.

Enjoy a good long rest and don't feel the need to neck every free drink that you're bound to be offered! God bless.

Comrade in Chief!

Many thanks for the kind words but, of course, many thanks for the courage, energy, integrity and leadership you have displayed in spades since that now famous Trust Interim Steering Committee meeting in that hotel near Brentford FC. Things were (let's say) fractious among some members of the ISC then and you must have felt what on earth have I let myself in for?!

The Trust has been blessed to have been led at the right time by the right people: first Jim Benton Evans, then Graham Clark and then your good self.

I am very proud to have had the opportunity to work with you through some thunderously dark days. We have had our differences but it would have been extraordinary if we had not, given the period that we have just passed through (particularly when you were on your 'holiday' in Florida and the club truly was circling the drain). We were always able to reconcile honestly and fully and carry on the hugely positive and productive work that was needed, especially in the face of considerable negativity from some quarters - which you quite clearly thrive on!

Despite the crisis, it was great fun - most of the time :-) . I am very happy that we have a friendship which will last a very long time.

It is clear that there are many who have contributed but none who have contributed more than you.

There is a big Union position for you soon mate and that Union and its members will be very well served. I expect your family will benefit from seeing a bit more of you too! You deserve all the accolades that are being heaped upon you and you leave the Trust in an extraordinarily healthy position to move onto the next - but as you indicate, longer term - challenges, which will be many and varied.

What has been done is to save the club from the direst peril, what happens next is no less important - to make sure it never happens again. Thanks to you, the club has a future and thanks to you, the Trust can play its part in making that future even more secure.

You have nothing to be sorry for!

I overheard some of the banter between you and gary on the GT's coach on the way back from oxford and you seem like a top bloke.

Thanks for everything. :clap:
