Fantastic news, congratulations Chris, very much deserved for your role in saving the club :nworthy:

It's also great to see a supporter involved, after many months of being kept in the dark by the club, it's an interesting move by JB to bring supporters into the club, whatever JB says he lacks in football knowledge he certainly makes up for it in his business sense...

It may only be an honorary position but if, say, for example, purely hypothetically speaking of course but a certain Mr Ridsdale said or did something that was the opposite of the impression he’d previously given – then the President speaking out would carry a bit more weight than a strongly worded post on PASOTI. We have full confidence that in such a situation Chris wouldn’t hold back.

:iagree: This post sums up my feelings to a "T"! We can now feel a lot more confident that there will be someone with a "watching brief" in the club. who first and foremost; has the best interests of the club at heart. And not only people who might be primarily concerned with profit or personal power bases.

There's a true fan on the Board! That's got to be great news!!! :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:

Congratulations Chris.

Personally, I liked the more inclusive feel of the final paragraph of the report which quoted Chris as saying:

""I can be a great ambassador for the club and hope I can be in a position to assist supporters groups and promote the club on an ongoing basis," he said.

A welcome move.

Congratulations, it's a well deserved honour.

It's also a very smart move. Let's hope you can keep the club on the straight & narrow, from "the inside".

Well deserved and a shrewd move by James Brent

Tony, you have rightly highlighted the word 'inclusive'. Appointing Chris as President of the club is the first step towards the implementation of James Brent's proposals for proper Corporate Governance of the football club where the Directors will properly be held to account in a transparent way. I cannot think of a better person to be a significant part of that than Chris which is why we were so delighted when he accepted the role.

Congratulations Mr President.

Not so much "welcome to the White House", more "welcome to the Green House".

Congratulations Chris, you deserve it after what you have done for the club.

Just out of interest, what happens with the previous incombent? Do they just get 'un-Presidentialised'? I wonder if he even knows (or cares)? :D
