Congratulations Chris.
Good to know that there'll be someone with green blood running through their veins at the top table

Club Donor

Watching all the goings on of the last year from afar we exiles are so lucky to have had someone like Chris and his merry band of helpers to help salvage our club. Nothing elitist about representing your peers Chris, I don't think the role will be quite the figurehead only one that it has been previously somehow. Just hope JB arranges for a flunky to bring your prawn sandwiches over to The Demport at half time. You are made for the role and have all the skills necessary to be the link between the fans and the board. An inspired choice from our new owner. Congratulations.

Well done Webby, if someone told me at Leicester away years ago (especially after you played that famous trick on me) that you'll be Argyle President one day, i would never have believed it.
Well done mate, you completely deserve it.

Congratulations Chris.

Isn't it a tradition for a newly elected President to get the beers and pasties in?

A shrewd move by the club.

A president who knows where Argyle come from.

.......and comes from Argyle too.

With the Japanese fellas departure goes the last trappings of the former regime and that can be nothing but welcome. That his replacement is a fan and a fan that has done so much too?, brilliant. It's not so much a case of my club now resembling what I always wanted from top to bottom, my club now has NO top or bottom, el presidente is one of the people.

Well done Argyle, even if it is as JV says, a good chess move. And more importantly well done Chris, thoroughly deserved .

I'm not raining on anyone's parade however to fully salute the tone of that statement (hard work starts here) while pointing out the folly of a certain phrase used within it. It's semantics I accept, and i'm sure neither party has failed to recognise this but Argyle 'deserves' nothing, it'll only succeed with effort. My observation arises from both the new president and the new owners reference in that statement to getting us back to "our rightful place".

We presently now occupy "our rightful place". We were run poorly and as a direct consequence we got exactly what we deserved, we need to be run better. With the Argyle family values back in place, the journey starts, with confidence and with good people at the helm. But we're not 'returning' anywhere, we're starting afresh with new horizons, we 'deserve' nothing, we need to EARN our future.

Again though, viva el presidente .
