Well done IJN. Thanks for all your hours of work on behalf of us and our club.

( And that also goes for ALL the people involved in raising funds and contributing funds to keep the club alive)

Well done to someone I have never met but I feel I know like a close friend. Ian, you fully deserve this unique and wonderful accolade, your constant work to raise money for others is a sign of a good and great man. I am sure you will treasure this letter and it's well deserved.

Can't tell you how pleased for Ian I am over this.

He doesn't do anything for himself and doesn't want anything for himself. Everything he does is for the club, the staff, the fans.

So thank you James Brent for making this lovely gesture.

And well done greengrass!

Well done Ian, for a website to raise £50k is a superb achievement and I think everyone recognises that you've organised the various donations, auctions to raise much of that amount.

Well done Ian, congratulations on your letter and thank you. I don't think we should ever forget these times when we are hopefully are flying high again one day and your name will always be firmly linked and positively remembered for the crucial role you played in saving PAFC.

On a similar theme during the darkest days most of us greens have used the famous word 'Resurgam' as a rallying call. Is there any way, without any disrespect to it's previous much more serious use of the City, that we could have it formally put up somewhere at Home Park (perhaps just a small nameplate?) as a reminder, a motivator and respect for the passion and support demonstrated by the staff, players, former players, the green army, other clubs and individuals like you that turned it all around?

Thank you.

Can't think of anyone who deserves the thanks more. Thanks Ian and thanks James for recognizing his selfless (apart from the letter!) actions!

Ian, I was reflecting how much more the letter from James must mean to you given it was not that long ago at that Contingency Plan meeting in August at the City Business Park that James, himself, gave Argyle only a 10% chance of survival. It was the lowest point and I remember well the shock etched upon your face as the reality of what that might mean dawned upon you. Tears were in your eyes.

However, you dusted yourself down and redoubled your determination for it not to become a reality. Everything was ramped up with fundraising on Pasoti and with the GTs. However, in the final days and weeks it was particularly your efforts with Chris and Peter that brought James fully back into the fold and the rest they say is history.....

The story of the football club that refused to die has many heroes. It was probably the first time that the use of a website and social media had played such a major part in saving a football club. In playing your part you took the risks and the flak but revelled in the challenge. Being closer than most to knowing what went on I can say that you are one of those heroes and I know how much that first letter on the new football club headed paper from the Chairman will mean to you. Well done.

Yes. Completely agree with the consensus of this thread.

A really nice gesture, fully deserved.

And it would be hard to find a better way of explaining the meaning of the word "priceless".

What's also good is that it's reinforcement of the complete change of culture at Argyle under James's ownership, with the fans restored to their rightful place at the heart of the club.

Raising 50k plus is no mean achievement.

A nice touch by JB to officially recognise this.

Always good to see credit where credit is due. The personal touch of a letter, that no doubt IJN can frame and add to his shirt collection, would be something unique for any fan to treasure. Well deserved.

:iagree: 100% Peter. A thoroughly deserved appreciation for the tireless effort Ian has given to saving Argyle. Keep up the good work, Ian.

Unfortunately I missed the Northampton match yesterday. Missed a fantastic Fan Fest, a historical presentation and, what up to now has been, a rare Argyle victory.

.....perhaps I should stay away more often..
