Hereford are down, they're not going to win against Torquay and Crawley.

And I can't see Macclesfield beating Bradford, who are decent at home and Southend, draws maybe and a win against Burton, but that won't be enough.

Bradford's result could be more important than Argyle's result next week.

Come on Marcel !!

All they need to do is get a win and a draw out of their next 2 games and it might all come down to the last game of the season. They have fairly easy fixtures. And it's going to be hard for Argyle to win again looking at our run-in.

I know Macclesfield have Southend at home on the last day, but Southend might be guaranteed a play-off place by then and deliberately play a weakened team.

If we lose next week and Macclesfield win, it's not going to be a very comfortable situation.

WE ARE NOT YET SAFE.

We're not safe yet but I'll try to throw you a crumb of comfort. Macclesfield haven't won a single game since December 31st 2012 - that's a run of 22 games without a win. To pass Argyle they need to win all three of their remaining games or perhaps win two and draw the other. Plus, don't rule Barnet out of things as far as going down is concerned. But you are correct, it's not over yet.

Putting it simply, three points from our last three games and we are safe.

All nice and neat now with no games in hand anywhere. Notice the team with the best combination of 10 game form and goal difference in the middle of that bunch...

Which goes to show just how much the results of the first 10 games of the season, has had an effect on where we sit now......

First ten games and well beyond that I reckon. It's interesting to think of Argyle's performance level this season in stages. Something like this:

Stage 1 was when we were utterly struggling and losing pretty much every game with a cobbled together inexperienced side (with Peter Reid at the helm and before coming out of administration).
Stage 2 was when we made a bit of a fresh start and had some improvement of the squad but still conceded far too many goals and couldn't find any kind of consistency (early days of Carl Fletcher's management).
Stage 3 was when the experienced players came in (Purse, Wotton, Chadwick) and things picked up a bit but there was still no consistency and it was still a real struggle.
Stage 4 was when we had a settled side with new signings having had a chance to settle and the defence became awesomely good really.

This season there is no time for Stage 5 and, in any case, it almost certainly relies on a couple of new signings being brought in, but it would be when some attacking guile and (perhaps mostly) confidence is added to the now excellent defence and most of the tight games swing positively in our favour (tight/unlucky draws become comfortable wins). When that happens we are promotion candidates.

With 15 points from the first 10 games we would be 11th.

I deliberately haven't changed my signature - despite it being wrong!

i think the main reason we are not conceding goals is that the whole team formation is set up to defend. I'm not saying our defenders have not played well, but sticking 10 men behind the ball helps a great deal.

Its good tactics given our limited squad and predicament at the bottom of the table. But to win the league a team would need to be more adventurous going forward and have some flair players.
