I don't worship any Gods but i don't begrudge people the right to worship whoever they like. It's (and I know I'm stretching things a bit here) like those people who don't 'get' football - they don't understand how people can get so worked up about something which essentially pretty silly.
I get that people don't want to think that when we die that's it, but we can be almost certain that that is the case. I wouldn't say I begrudge religious people, but I will mock their views as I think they are ridiculous and I don't know why they should be exempt from mocking.
Most religious people have had it drilled in to their heads at a young age, if they didn't have religion rammed down their throats they would most likely turn out to be atheists.
There are of course other motives behind Islamic Extremism but a major factor is that they believe they are doing right and that their reward is eternal paradise. This is clearly stated in the Quran and whether you are a moderate or an extremist Muslim, you believe in the teachings of the Quran. Its not just Islam, we all no about the Catholic Church's position on Homosexuality. Also there is some despicable stuff in the Old Testament.
I don't like religion because it causes trouble. If it didn't I wouldn't care. Live and let live I say but when I see innocent people being beheaded and burnt alive in the name of religion it makes me feel sick.
