Have you ever tried getting to Forest Green not by car and on a Friday night?

It's near on impossible. Even though relatively close there'll be next to no Argyle fans there I imagine.

Unfortunately, due to unforseen circumstances, the 1940's Tribute Night on 31st July has had to be postponed until later in the year. Apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Is the unforseen circumstance due to the first team game Bob? Seems a shame.

Isn't it about time we stopped languishing in false nostalgia for the second world war. This is 2015 for heaven's sake.

The Trust should concentrate on doing what it is set up to do.

Bit harsh, Rhino.

Functions need to have a theme, and a current theme at his moment in time appears to be any anniversary of what happened during the first and second world wars. Not just for football functions, but for ANY function. You've only got to look at the bbc to see the interest there is in this sort of thing.

To youngsters, probably like you, it's just a form of history, with little or no interest.

I was the same at your age, but you will learn that with age comes nostalgia. Pining for the past is one of our nations greatest assets, and a way of celebrating our better moments in our historic past.

There are people still alive that took part in these actual events, and we show our gratitude to them all by way of remembering what was achieved. Without their courage, the world would be a far worse place for the likes of you and I and many many other peoples around the world.

Do not criticise the Trust for doing what the Trust should be doing.

Pete's a pacifist, but as Paul has said he is knocking on a bit.

He'll be delighted with 'I was your age once' though.

I don't agree with him as it happens, but Pete is passionate about such things.

Not a pacifist as it goes but just a bit embarrassed by the fact that as a nation we only seem to be able to be happy when we are dredging up past glories. I shudder to think what others think of us. Anyway, I have had my say and I'll shut up on that topic.

As regards whether or not the AFT should be doing this I won't shut up. This is an irrelevant side show.

Oops yes, I nearly forgot, you made my day by assuming I am a nipper - thanks!!!
