this is the cost.

The table below sets out the expenditure for the inquiry up to and including 31 December 2015. Only expenditure authorised through, or on behalf of, the inquiry secretariat is included in these figures. The inquiry provides funding for the solicitors and counsel to the inquiry and in addition only funds representation for core participants and witnesses if the Chairman makes such an award in accordance with the provisions of section 40 of the Inquiries Act 2005. The Home Office and other organisations may also have other costs which are met internally and are not included within the inquiry’s expenditure figures.

Costs incurred
£
Staff/Secretariat Costs 247,723
Legal Services 1,415,773
Running & Court Costs 111,966
IT 360,544
Accommodation 113,375
Total £2,249,381
:sigh:
you never hear me complain.

Putin should have used a drone. Apparently that is the okay way to carry out assassinations nowadays.

Like all these inquiries they cost huge amounts of money, as you noted mainly in legal fees and other government expenses. The hidden expenses nominally referred to as 'consequential costs', can factor out at 2+ and only show up on the bottom line when all the department accountants have finished adjusting their books.

What do we get for our money, a review of possible scenarios which would not stand up in a court of law and was possibly deduced by the investigating detectives at the beginning oy the investigation, for a fraction of the costs.

Think of all the hospitals and child support centers that could do with that funding.

What?

Let's get this straight.......Someone was assassinated in broad daylight in a truly horrible way, resulting in a slow agonising death......it turns out this was done by a foreign power, probably on the direct PERSONAL orders of one of the major world leaders of this century.......not only that but it left a trail of highly toxic, radioactive material right across our capital city exposing God-knows how many to danger, like deadly invisible footprints...

So what do we do about this outrage? We whinge about the £2million cost of the investigation!!!
We spend £6million of public money subsidising the bars in the House of Commons FFS!!!

Sometimes I truly despair......Little Britain indeed.
Smarter people than I have been total idiots - and I've met them all.
