What I do detest is the Christians that argue for abortions to be banned across the board. A woman who is pregnant due to rape for example. In that instance the woman should certainly have the right to abort the pregnancy. Also instances where the woman's life could be at risk if an abortion is not performed. Certainly then the woman should have the right.

Abortion due to gender however. No I do not agree with that as a moral choice but I still think it should be the parents rights.

Murder? Abortion certainly isn't that. We are talking about life that possesses no conscience or self awareness.

Joking aside, that is a fair point Stan. If consciousness (rather than conscience-a subject in itself) and awareness are the determinators of life then I'm not sure I qualify some days even now.

There is also much debate about when a foetus is able to feel pain, which for me is also a determining factor, as for consciousness it's impossible to say, and may vary with each individual on where you draw that line. I guess it depends how you define awareness too, I think my first recollection of being self aware was about 4/5 years old but clearly I was alive for a significant period prior to then.
