Gotta laugh at Cornwall, the poorest area in the EU, received huge EU funding. A big Leave vote.

Always banging on about their 'nationality' language , devolution etc. Now they have to go cap in hand to the Tories. Heheh, good luck with that one!

The EU is anathema to national identity and culture. On the economics perhaps the destruction of the fishing industry played its part? I feel for Cornwall and the effects of loss of industry and I hope that the British government will assist a recovery. Instead of wasting all that money on HS2 (surely not going to happen now anyway) let's have a decent railway all the way down to Penzance.

Unfortunately Mike, Cornwall was one of the poorest places in the EU, how did that happen? are the Cornish a load of lazy b*******ds? not that I've witnessed, or have they been ignored by the establishment? It therefore makes complete sense, they're sick of being ignored and have taken the opportunity to remind Westminster or who ever that they're still there.

This as the main reason for such venom from some quarters after this referendum, the poor and ignored have bitten the rich and comfortable on the a55 and having had it all their own way for so long haven't really enjoyed it.

So their real argument was with Westminster so they voted to leave, eschew the EU funding and ask for the money from Westminster. Hmmm, makes sense...

Nowhere voted to Remain.

An election is based on constituency's & geographical areas, this wasn't an election, this was a referendum, we voted as a United Kingdom, not as a collection of cities or even counties.

You could argue that but different numbers of people living in different areas voted in different ways.

As outlined on the map shown here http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/politics/eu_r ... um/results
