I read this magazine article yesterday regarding the actions of GWB and his entourage in the minutes and hours immediately after the attack on the Twin Towers. It is a bit long, but it is utterly fascinating (especially if you're a fan of The West Wing) as it showed the actions and thinking of everyone as they scrambled to try to work out just what was going on. It shows a different, professional, side to the President, and different to that rabbit-in-the-headlights version Michael Moore had of him as he sat with the school-children when he was informed of the news.
GWB, quite rightly in my eyes, gets a roasting over his actions in the years following 9/11, but on this day he and his team acted the best that they could. Interesting opinion of Vladamir Putin back then too.
Anyway, have a read.
