Steve Woolf, favourite to be the next UKIP leader (would have been favourite last time round if he got his application in on time), is in hospital after an "altercation" with other UKIP MEP's. Apparently there was a "clear the air" meeting as many were unhappy with him admitting he had considered defecting to the Tories. He was punched once and knocked his head against a metal bar, then complained of losing sensation down one side of his body before falling unconscious. His condition is said to be "life threatening".
Obviously I hope he recovers but, you know, UKIP ... really not surprised.
