This is allowed because Shrewsbury haven't played in the Championship for three consecutive years!!

Totally and utterly ludicrous. :furious:

On the flip side if this proves to work, be safe and fans want more then the government surely will have to listen.

I know the rules were already set, but they could start next Season in the Championship, so surely it's a bit of a two fingers up to the existing Championship Clubs that might have expressed an interest.

If they do go up, and I hope they do, then better that they demonstrate it working well at that level for the chance of it being introduced more widely.

Where have you been Tonsk!

If the law does not change and Shrewsbury are still in the Championship in three years time, then they will have to remove said safe standing seats, won't they?????

They will be able to lock all the seats in the down position to comply with current legislation...... and the fans will still stand

The problem we have is, the legislation says that all-seated stadiums are safer and since it's introduction there have been no incidents to suggest that that isn't the case. Football fans know it would be safer but politicians will want it backed up with hard evidence.

A locked down safe standing seat is still a safe standing seat, which will not comply with the legislation, LC.

They will have to replace them all.

I'm no expert but seats in the locked DOWN position are seats. It was designed that way so that German clubs could comply with Champions League all seated stadium rules. Our legislation says everyone must have a seat (and sit in it). There is nothing to say that the rails shouldn't be there.

These locked down seats do not comply with current seating requirements. They’ll have to be replaced in due course if the status quo remains.
