The latest Argyle news and gossip.

The latest betting for Saturday's match at Valley Parade has a Bradford City win at odds of 23/20, a draw placed at 12/5 and an Argyle win at 21/10.
Bradford have won two games, lost three and drawn two in 2019.

Bradford Fans' Forum

Chief Executive Michael Dunford talks about the first Fans Assembly held before the Portsmouth game ....
"I think it was very constructive.

“We’re still looking for a representative from the Family Enclosure in the Barn Park End, and another for supporters under the age of 18. If there are any people reading this who feel that they’ve got the credentials to apply for that then we’d be only too delighted to hear from them.”

“The purpose of it really is that we’ve got a diaspora of 12-15 sections of support, and we want to bring those together,” said Michael. “There is a common thread, and the theme in all this is the future wellbeing of the football club.

"It’s alright me saying this, fine words, but it’ll probably take three or four meetings to evidence, strongly, that this is a vehicle that’s very positive and acting in the best interest of our supporter-base.”

“When you’ve got a good cross-section of supporters like we had on Saturday, as you would expect, most people have got common sense.
“There’s a common thread on this, we all want what’s best for Plymouth Argyle Football Club. Will we agree on everything? No.”

“I think there’s a general acceptance that it is a positive step on behalf of the club, but that’s got to be proven as we go forward. Our next meeting will be in April, and it’s the hope that we’ll have five of these throughout the year, which will give the sections of our support the opportunity of challenging the club, the board, myself and senior members of staff over policy decisions that we take.”

“The last thing we want is to sit there like a load of dummies, just going through a set agenda. Yes, there will be a formal agenda to work to, but we will give everybody the opportunity to bring specific items to the table for the group that they represent – and we’ll be delighted to answer those questions, truthfully and openly.”

“This isn’t a forum for the individual to make an issue on any particular thing. That door’s still open through the surgeries and through just picking up the phone and asking to see us if there’s a particular issue.

"This is a collective forum who represent, we think, a very, very strong cross-section of our support. It’s going to be positive, hopefully it’s going to be creative, and it’s going to be enjoyable.”

Argyle’s Head of Stadium Redevelopment Jon Back gives an update on the progress of the refurbished grandstand. ....
“As has been previously documented, the development project encountered a delay of a few weeks in the first month after the original contract was signed in August 2018.

“These delays were caused primarily by the discovery of contaminated spoil under the Chisholm Lounge and Mayflower Terrace.“Since that date, the demolition and construction have run well and, taking those early delays into account, is – to the day – where we expected to be on the programme.

“Indeed, rather than further delays having been encountered, the contractors GL Events are trying very hard to recover those early lost days.

“The work over the past few weeks has been split between the new changing rooms, and the enormous foundations required for both the new lower tier of the grandstand and the rear grandstand extension.
“We are also preparing to remove and replace some of the old steel columns from inside the stand.

“Whilst this work is not that visible from outside the construction site, the delivery and installation of the new steelwork, which will start in the next two weeks, will be obvious to all.”

A new survey which looks at all 92 teams and the points they have gained from losing positions this season has ranked Argyle in 57th place where they have been in losing positions in 20 games and went onto win one game and drawing four, picking up seven points.
Bradford City are in 90th position with a record of going behind in 19 games, failing to win a game, drawing just one game and losing 18.
