In the end all those stats mean nothing....if your only 12th in the league...and 9pts behind the league leaders who also happen to be that lot up the road Exeter.

The only stat that matters is more goals scored than the team your playing.

A pass to points won, conversion ratio, might be more illuminating but I get your drift..

This. Why are some people obsessed with stats? We had more than enough of that with the previous regime. An half hearted miskick towards goal would presumably be recorded as a shot and umpteen backwards and sideways passes enhance the possession stat.

Good point, backed up by looking at Man City.

With all their possession stats, most of their passes is backwards, and sideways.

Exactly - and what good has it done them for the last few years?

Thats what I was thinking. They will never win anything playing like that.

Whether you’re a sports team or a business, all results are predicated on the right activity. If I were Argyle’s Manager these are exactly the facts I would want to know to tell me I’m moving in th right direction. Surely that must be obvious to even the dumbest supporters.

Uummmm yes but Man City produce the goods whereas we are not at the moment. Stats are a load of rubbish & dont win matches we have just got rid of one stats driven manager & look where that got us !!!

If we had the Man City midfield and forward line then I think our "conversion" rate would be a little better!!

All this tippy tappy football is fine but we need the final ball to be better & we need someone in the box who can put the ball in the net.

It's all a bit predictable at the moment, even at tier 4 teams seem able to suss out our one tactic & counter it.

We could easily have scored 4 or 5 on Tuesday with better finishing so I dont think Crawley 'sussed' it.
