Here are a couple of easy ones following events at Rovers on Saturday

1 Had the second penalty been put away and had Argyle won what would have been historic about the victory?

2 Who was the last player to score and miss a penalty in the same cup tie for Argyle?

That's right! Happy times - Feb 2007 - I took in the Derby Cup Tie and the following Tuesday night 3-0 win against Colchester on a visit home for an extended long weekend. Argyle were looking good - outplayed promotion favourites in the Cup Tie and basically hammered at a canter a Colchester side full of good Championship pedigree players. Scott Sinclair's winner in the Cup Tie, a rare David Norris goal and one from an emerging Dan Gosling on the Tuesday night - one of the best teams in green in the last twenty years I would say.

How about what nearly happened at Rovers? Link it to the Bolton game and have a guess!

That's right Gary S!

As far as I can see Argyle have only won consecutive away ties in the FA Cup on two occasions

1928-29 Round 1 Yeovil 4-1
Round 2 Brentford 1-0

1995-96 Round 1 Slough 2-0
Round 2 Kingstonian 2-1

So if they they had beaten Rovers it would have been the first time they had won two consecutive away ties in the FA Cup against League opposition regardless of division.

I may have caught you out here, Sainghin.

This was partly down to memory and partly thanks to GoS...

FA Cup R1, Sat 16 Nov 2002: Bury 0-3 Argyle
FA Cup R2, Sat 7 Dec 2002: Stockport 0-3 Argyle

Stockport were still a league club at that time.

It's a fair cop WoodsyGreen! No excuses - I just missed it! More haste, less speed next time! Thanks for the correction.
