George Cooper recall? (NO according to Lowe)

Didn’t the Peterborough chairman say a few weeks ago that they would probably only think about recalling Cooper in the unlikely event that they sold Maddison in this transfer window? Sky sports are reporting that Charlton have had a bid accepted for him.

A very important player for us in our hunt for promotion. A young lad who IMO will only get better. Without knowing the finances involved I’d love to see us snap him up.

He would be a loss, but at least we have a specialist LWB to come back in when he recovers from injury - which should be soon.

Will depend on the loan agreement with Argyle, but now the Maddison deal is happening there is certainly a raised threat of him being recalled unless Peterborough have a different target in mind to bring in, we'll have to keep a close eye on developments.
Hoping for the best!

Could have been a bluff to apply pressure for us to sign him?

Well that’s confusing because didn’t they also say Argyle had an option to make his loan permanent?
Yep. A tweet from an Argyle fan during a Q&A the Peterborough owner did in December:

Is Cooper all season at Argyle with no option to recall?

I believe you have the option to purchase by the 17th of January Zak. All good, your club and manager have done terrific job with young Coops.

A big loss if we lose him. I know we don’t have money but if we’re going to spend then surely spending money on a player like coops will be a good investment? He’s proving he can do it for us, it wouldn’t be some punt and hoping he will perform.

So based on this we have 4 days to make George Cooper a permanent transfer or risk losing him if Maddison goes to Charlton??

So coops is only here until Friday? Has he played his last game for us?

Why would Peterborough recall Cooper, he was obviously not deemed good enough for them hence their decision to let him go to a lower League club.

They will get good money for Madison and invest some of it on a replacement for whom they will probably have a couple of possible signings in mind.

There must be a good chance he will stay with us. He looks very happy in a green shirt and the fans love him. Feeling loved and appreciated plays a massive part. George is playing well and enjoying his football. There is no guarantee he will get regular game time back at Posh. Of course we will need to meet the asking price whether that be in this window and or the end of the season.
