With those odds in mind, I was just wondering how much the prize money is for a team winning the league compared to that of a team that won promotion via the play offs. :scarf:

There is no prize money. Regardless of finishing position each team receives the same payment from the EFL and the same 'solidarity payment' from the Premier League.
Two years ago it was £472,000 to each club from the EFL and £430,000 from the Premier League but that might have changed now.

The four play-off teams each receive 12.5% of the gate receipts from the four semi-final games with 50% going to the EFL.
The two teams in the final receive 25% each of the gate receipts at Wembley with the other 50% going to the EFL.

Wonder why the bookies think Crewe have more chance of winning the title than us.

Possibly because more money's been put on Crewe.
Exactly, the same question arises every time there is an odds related topic.

The bookmakers don't care who wins, they will balance and offset based on WOM (Weight of Money) or Expected weight of money. If people start to lump on us, our odds will come down. Simples

Because more people are willing to risk their money
on Crewe ? Or maybe because a small number of people
have risked what amounts to a considerable sum in what
is probably a fairly small market.

 obviously more people are betting on Crewe or a small number a large sum. But it makes no sense why! Esp as Argyle have more punters than Crewe surely.

Considering the league position, form and games in hand, 5-1 against Argyle going up as champions looks like generous odds.
Will probably change in the next 12 hours, if not sooner.
