According to the Sun, here are the 5 proposals to end the EFL season ...

The first is for relegation to be scrapped if the season is not completed, but that would leave the Premier League in a strong position to dismiss promotion from the Championship as a result.

An alternative points-per-game system has also been proposed, with the EFL’s solution being ‘unweighted’ but some clubs are pushing for a ‘weighted’ system, where home and away results are assessed differently.

How to work out penalties in the PPG system is also on the cards, with the question orientating around whether they are put into the running total or after the average is worked out.

No relegation from League Two has also been proposed, and has been favoured by clubs in the lowest division of the EFL but may not get the support of the higher leagues.

Finally, play-off options are also set to be discussed as some ‘rebel’ clubs in League One are pushing for a new way of deciding who goes up and who goes down.

Its a more complex situation than some Argyle fans appreciate.

At this stage, Its not a certainty that Argyle will be promoted. That is just one of several options.

So how come we're not being told to train for the Play Offs then?

Sod it.

Every team who could possibly go up (but not down), goes up. Every team which could possibly go gown (but not up), goes down. Every team which could possibly go up and go down, stays in the same division they’re in.

Stupid idea? Maybe, but not the stupidest put forward, and is the fairest to all teams.

Because it's not the EFLs preferred option. It's Transmeres, but it is being voted on, and of it passed we'd been in the play offs.

It's a cluster fudge if passed but it could be that we are in an extended play off format.

Don't count your chickens on promotion just yet.

So how we could we play off teams that have been in training for two weeks already?

Not counting chickens Stu, just being logical. The promoted clubs have been told but instructed not to say a word.

If that wasn't the case, I'd use the logic you are and tell all seven clubs to train for the Play Offs.

It's cut and dried.

My understanding is the original format will stay as decreed by efl. Just a case of whether teams want to play on or not.

Individual clubs may like to whinge all they like, but there must be a voting system in situ, which allows for decisions, provided a resolution is supported and passed by the greater majority of clubs, perhaps 70%

The Championship clubs stand to lose a lot of money if they don't finish the season. They've provisionally agreed to start again in two weeks.
