Why was the reproduction so poor this time.

Normally, it is of excellent quality.

Stuart James sounds like a fog horn from a million miles away.

But yes, I thought that too. Had turned it up all the way to hear him, then my eardrum shattered when the adverts came back on :shock:

Understandable though when presumably doing it remotely, and it's actually a good listen.

Agree - it is one broadcast which I enjoy so much - Chris Errington is so informative, Jak Ball is just Jak Ball !!

To be honest, the sound quality had been poor for a while before the virus. Have had to have the volume up full on my iphone.
