January

The year started with a 2-1 New Year's Day home defeat against Swindon Town, watched by a crowd of just over 15,000, the loss dropped the Greens to ninth place in League Two. After the game a Twitter spat broke out between the official Twitter accounts of each club.

Pilgrims' everywhere were saddened to discover that former Argyle defender Chris Barker had passed away, aged just 39.

Young striker Klaidi Lolos returns to Home Park after finishing his loan spell at Dorchester Town while fellow young striker Luke Jephcott is recalled early from his loan at Truro City.

Midfielder Tyreeq Bakinson signs on-loan from Bristol City until the end of the season.

Argyle win 3-1 away to Scunthorpe United with two goals from Jephcott, who was a surprise inclusion in the starting line-up, with the third goal scored by Byron Moore.
After the game Ryan Lowe revealed the club have offered a permanent deal to Chelsea loanee Josh Grant.

Lowe was spotted in the Anfield crowd for the live TV Merseyside derby against Everton.

After 12 away games the average Argyle away following was at 1,104 with the highest of 2,300 at Swindon.

Argyle's average home attendance of 10,134 is the second highest in the league while the average away attendance of 1,071 is the highest.

Tickets go on sale for Home Park summer concerts featuring Little Mix and Westlife.

Ryan Lowe wins the League Two Manager of the Month award for January while Luke Jephcott wins Player of the Month.

Argyle lose 3-0 away to Colchester United in what was described as one of the worst performances of the season.

The Greens get back to winning ways in a 3-2 win away to Salford City in what was described as one of the best performances of the season, a brilliant Ryan Hardie solo goal sealed the win in the 92nd minute.

Argyle have to settle for a 1-1 draw away to Macclesfield in a rearranged game.

Another draw follows at home against Cambridge United, the Greens are now in fourth place in the league.

Midfielder Antoni Sarcevic produces one of his best seasons with 11 goals and eight assists so far.

Tickets for the Devon Derby go on sale.

Argyle lose 2-1 away to Bradford City and also suffered two red cards - Gary Sawyer in the 40th minute and Sarcevic in the 84th minute.

Ryan Lowe is linked to the vacant managerial position at Blackpool.

1,000 tickets for the Devon Derby are sold within the first 15 minutes of going on sale.

Sawyer and Sarcevic receive four game and two game bans respectively.

News emerges of a coronavirus creeping into the UK and the club issue a statement asking fans to abide by hygiene rules at Home Park and to regularly wash hands.

Argyle win 3-0 at home against Grimsby Town and move up to third place in League Two. Bakinson, Hardie and Jephcott score the goals.

The club arrange for an extra train to carry fans from Cornwall to Home Park for the Devon Derby and a similar extra train for fans further afield in Devon.

Due to the coronavirus the club state fans will not be able to ask for player autographs or selfies.

A crowd of 12,310 watch Argyle brush aside Macclesfield in a 3-0 win at Home Park. Hardie and George Cooper (2) score the goals and cements Argyle's position of third in the league.
Little did we know that would be the last match of the season.

The Devon Derby is announced as being broadcast live around the world.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic the Argyle Legends reunion with Paul Sturrock is postponed.

The club announce 14,372 tickets have been sold for the Devon Derby.

Striker Alex Fletcher extends his loan at Tiverton Town until the end of the season.

A new planning application for the ice rink at Higher Home Park is submitted, the new plan moves the ice rink closer to the Life Centre.

The EFL issue a statement that despite the coronavirus games will continue as normal.

Soon after another EFL statement says all games are suspended until at least 3rd April. Argyle's games against Morecambe, Leyton Orient, Exeter City and Grimsby Town are all postponed.

The club issues its own statement that all commericial activities have closed down.

The players learn of the postponed games while on the team coach on the M5 en route to Morecambe.

Another EFL statement says games are postponed until 30th April.

Argyle owner Simon Hallett issues a statement to reassure fans the future of the club is in good hands.

The Euro 2020 tournament is postponed until 2021.

The club cancel several events including a golf day, Gary Barlow and ABBA tribute concerts and an awards dinner.

John Lucas organises individual training programmes for the players while they are away from the club.

A Crowdfunding scheme to financially help the club is launched.

The club allow several NHS services free use of Home Park.

The club make use of the Government furlough scheme for the players and staff.

It's finally decided that the average points per game system will be used to decide final league placings, which means after 37 games Argyle are in third place and ARE PROMOTED!

The play-off games will take place behind closed doors.

Scott Wootton, Conor Grant, Nial Canavan, Luke Jephcott, Gary Sawyer, Ryan Law, Klaidi Lolos and Adam Randell all sign new contracts.
