To be fair to them they missed 2 sitters (one was even going in before the player cleared it for us).

We got lucky today, a more clinical side would have seen us 3-1 down by the end of the game.

Fair comment - Had they taken their chances we would be three points down now.

Fair comments from.him. it was as bad as Ipswich and Oxford and we should have lost like those 2 X games. I'm not Evans biggest fan but he is correct.

Green tints can happy clap about the 3 points but the same issues arise game after game, nothing changes.

Unfortunately, this. Today was a bonus three points for us - how they missed those chances was incredible.

We really, really need a quality centre back.

All teams miss chances. Yes, Gillingham could have won if they had taken their chances but how many games would we have won if we had taken ours?

We are shyte because we don’t take our chances. When the opposition don’t take their chances we’re also shyte because we gave them chance that we are lucky they didn’t take.

It boils down to the fact that we took our chances and they didn’t. That makes us better than them.

How many good saves did the Gillingham keeper have to make?

Gillingham missed a free header in the six yard box and their own player cleared one-off our line by their own player.

There is a difference between missing half chances, which Jephcott’s goal was (and brilliantly executed) and the two mentioned above.

I don’t think either Gillingham deserved to win. If Evans had been braver with his selection then they may of got a result. Argyle were the better team until he brought his subs on early in the second half.

If we are honest we saw two poor teams which is why they both are in the bottom third of this league.

It's a sorry state when Gillingham strengthen their team by bringing on their subs....and all Argyle do is weaken theirs by bringing on their subs......the moment Grant goes off...it's down hill.

What was Lowe supposed to do about the near continual supply of crosses coming from Grant's side of the pitch?

Admittedly the change of strikers worsened us considerably.

I do.think Grant going off was a good move. Graham had him in his pocket second half and was raining in crosses which our keeper couldn't cope with.. Once Opoku (is that the right spelling?) Came on that stopped.
RLs need to keep taking off the 2 X strikers and putting on the Laural and Hardie show each game is maddening. They bring nothing to the party and if anything it invites pressure onto us. :banghead:

According to the BBC

Argyle. Gills
Possession. 63%. 37%
Shots. 17. 12
On target. 3. 4
Corners. 8. 4
Fouls. 9. 11

One sided in Gills favour?

Addendum. I’ve often felt our view of a game is dictated by the way we finish. Coming from 3-1 down yesterday, Brighton’s draw will seem better than a 1-0 victory. Because we had to hang on yesterday, it feels a lot less successful.
