Pretty obvious example of a player that has very strong links to Argyle, could add a new (albeit somewhat primitive) long throw dimension to our play whilst giving us the leadership qualities we've been crying out for at the back.

I guess the question is really around whether he'd be consistently good enough for League One to justify us spending on a player who has probably added a good 50% to his price tag after his performance at the weekend?

Personally I was not that surprised with his performance on Saturday, He is a top player and always as been, whenever his played against us he as done well, like many other players we watch on the TV in the Premiership or Championship and . wonder why did we we sell them, if the money was re invested then great but I do not see that.. It would be a no brainer to sign him if he became available wich is unlikely.

I mentioned his name a month or so ago as someone I'd really like to see us sign, unfortunately I think his performance against City the other night will have done us no favours in terms of boosting his price tag.

Possibly at the end of his contract, though I doubt he fulfils Lowe's play out from the back criteria.

Buy him? No chance. You don't spend money on 30 year old journeymen.

Very true. However I think if Hallett is to spend on players, he'd prefer to do so where there is a chance of a return on his investment - a possibility of selling at a profit.

Without a transfer fee being paid, he has gone from Northampton to Yeovil to Newport to Cheltenham. All of these clubs were at League 2 level.

He played very well on Saturday night but how come no club at League 1 level has ever signed him when he was available for nothing?

With his reluctance to play a target man up front and a desire to play neat passing football, why would Lowe sign a long-throw specialist?
