To me he was very diplomatic and considered in what he said about the referee. The details he gave about how he got booked left me scratching my head even more about the referee’s performance.

He was a loan player at Accrington last season. I thought RL had a reasonable relationship with the Accrington manager. Surely he would have got a report from him on the guy, both personality and skill set before taking him?
