Does anybody really know what has gone on in the boardroom at Home
Park, who has put the money in or not ? and for what motives.
I remember the same sort of issues when Ron Blindell was at the helm,
the impression given at the time (certainly in the press) was that he was
the problem and that he had to go, yet when I read Steve Rhodes book
of that period the situation was very different, the situation appears the
same with Dan Mcauley, yet the book on Shiltons years infers that Dan
was the only man coming up with the money.
My own view on the present situation is that it began by Paul Stapleton
overstretching himself trying to bring further success whilst we were in the
championship, and with good intentions, only to be let down by the quality
of the players he was advised to invest in by the managers, having said
that I am glad Paul is still involved, perhaps he should write the next book :!:
