The Green Army lost a true gentleman yesterday.

Alan Beacham (father of Nicki Errington) was a delightful man and a proper Argyle character.

He used to hold court before every home game at the wall opposite Gate 25 behind the old Superstore.

Some of the stories that were told there by Alan and his guests were things of legend. Even ex players like Duncan Neale, Kevin Hodges, Steve Davey etc took part.

A truly wonderful, kind and witty Cornishman has been lost to us, but I’m sure he’ll be looking over us for a long time to come.

Ad astra Alan and my thoughts are with his family at this sad time.

Such sad news, Alan was Chairman of the Cornish Supporters Branch for many years. He was like a stick of rock with Argyle right through the middle, we shall certainly miss you big guy. RIP

Like IJN I have had a few entertaining times at the wall (built by Duncan Neale I think?). Very knowledgeable about Argyle and a most likeable man. Condolences to all of the family.

That's terribly sad. Alan Beacham really was Argyle through and through - and he always went out to be kind and courteous.
