I've just received the following message. Rest in peace Brian.

A message composed by Linda and Kevin Pedley, the daughter and brother of Brian Pedley:

On the penultimate day of his life, in the company of his family, Brian listened to 'Sparksy' commentating on the Stanley game from his bed with the radio at full volume. As we all know this was another disappointing result, upon hearing the boos emanating from the radio at the end of the match Brian's eyes partially opened and a wry smile appeared on his face, he understood the fans frustrations, it was probably the only time we laughed out loud following an Argyle defeat! Despite the vagaries of following 'The Greens', in particular the emotional roller coaster of recent years, he remained staunch in his support. He relished each match day, especially being in the company of real football supporters who exemplified the true spirit of 'Semper Fidelis'.

COME ON YOU GREENS!!

Wonderful

And explains so much for so many of us.

RIP Brian

I was in the same year, at school, as Brian (Devonport High School) - sad to hear the news. Condolences to Brian's family.

Very sad news - even though we knew it was coming. Farewell Brian from another ex-Efford Green. How well I remember, like you, climbing up the hill at Severn Place with my Dad to catch the football special bus from outside Highfield school. Being part of the 20,000-plus Home Park crowd in those days was quite something.

To brothers David, Derek and Kevin, to Brian's children and grandchildren, to his wider family and especially to his wife Benita, I send my sincere condolences. It is tragic to have lost Brian at such a young age. I can relate to your grief, having lost my younger brother John (who at one time played for Argyle's youth team) to cancer only eight months ago. It must be a difficult time for you all but I am sure you will come through it as a family even closer than before.

Sincere regards

Mike Healy
