Gutted, just gutted. Met him a number of times over the years and he was an absolute gent, hilarious company. Condolences to all his family and friends. Thanks for posting the link to 'Ghosts of Saturday' it was nice for us all to be able to appreciate Slim's organ one last time*.

MOD's - please move to RIP.

I was in France when the news of Neil's passing came through to me - returning home last night. It's hit me hard.
We went to school together and to Argyle together, even picking up the odd training session during half-term weeks.

My parents were friends of Neil's Mum and Dad and years later, on the only occasion that I attended a match (Reading away in the cup) with my Son and my Dad - as three generations, we were greeted with open arms by Neil. One lasting memory was at Birmingham City (away) when I joined Neil for a pre match beer or two with his brother Richard and Tyhee Slim entertained the entire bar by picking up a bar stool and tuning it upside down to simulate the bagpipes whilst playing along to the St Andrews theme tune. Vintage Slim!!!

I'd been in touch with Neil on a regular basis during his illness but everything went quiet just recently. You were a character my friend who said it as it was and for that you will always have my respect and you will be sorely missed.

My condolcences to Richard & Jane.
