RIP Pilgrim. Never saw him play, but I recall his name in old programmes that my father brought home from watching games in that era. I found it an interesting pic as I can see a possible likeness to perhaps Peter Bloom when he was younger.

My Uncle took me to my first Argyle match probably around 1952 Ernie was in that team along with Bill Shortt Johnny Porteous, Jumbo Chisolm , Maurice Tadman , Harry Penk et al legends all RIP Ernie

My cousin married his granddaughter and at every family event he'd ask how we were doing and then compare us to his other old teams. Each team remembered with affection from a man always happy to talk.
I tolerate this century, but I don't enjoy it.
