Seems other regional cities are trying to adjust too. I could only see this as a good thing. If a regional Western Powerhouse
was to appear, surely it'd strengthen the surrounding region too? If rail links got much faster to London from Bristol. It may mean getting a train to London via Bristol would make more sense?

More controversially. If Bristol and Cardiff and get over the Welsh nationality hostility. Could the Unitary Authorities of Cornwall, Plymouth and Devon co-operate? Is England becoming a collection of London satellite cities and regions? Should we measure our worth by travel time from London?
