If we have got Henderson ‘nailed on’ to start , shows what a poor state we are in

Henderson is the captain of Liverpool FC, he's a regular starter and has helped guide his team to a respectable position in the league and the final of the biggest club competition in the world, UEFA Champions League. I wonder if you'll feel the same when you see him possibly lift the trophy on the 26th May?

As I said earlier, it is my opinion, I don’t think he brings anything to the England team, it seems a waste of a position Their must be better players than him, he is so overrated

You are entitled to that. I didn't give an opinion against, I gave you fact. My opinion is that he doesn't set the world alight or stand out in a game nor change one. However, considering the facts he has to start I reckon, with that experience and calmness in breaking up play, I think he does bring something to the team. I think he should be garenteed ahead of the similar, Eric Dier.

I was disappointed not to see Shelvy or Wilshere in the squad, he needs someone next to him to create through long passes forward. I don't see Dier or Loftus-cheek as those players.

The fact that there are only a handful of players that anyone seriously considers would have been worth taking but weren't picked shows how shallow the talent pool is. Perhaps Southgate will make the team greater than the sum of it's parts, but there isn't much to work with. The group should be easy though, so at least we ought to get to see four England games this time.

Henderson is a decent player but clearly Liverpool's success is down purely to an expensively assembled collection of foreign talent with a German coach.

Good. Was terrible in the Euros. And in the WC in 2014 too. I think he did ok in 2012 though but I think he's had his time and it's time for somebody else to be No 1 now.
